If you truly don't know anybody, ask the landlord or a neighbor.
How hard is it to zone a peice of land both commercial and residential?
Answers: You need to go to your township office and find out what the Master Plan is for your land. They have it all figured out what they want to be commercial, agricultural, residential, etc...
You go from there. You can fight to change it to something not on the "Master Plan". But it's not easy.
Hope this helps! :)
It can be a long process and it depends on how these decisions are made in your area. Each jurisdiction can have a different process. You are better off going down to your building department and getting information there.
Chicago - Can a tenant force you to settle for maid service?
I live in Chicago, IL. My proprietor owns the condo my roommates and I rent from him. He is wanting to sell it beforehand our lease expires in August, and walk through it with an appraiser the other hours of daylight (which we knew going on for beforehand). After the walkthrough, he emailed us and said he found everything to be in honourable order, but required us to keep it a bit cleaner for when they are showing it to prospective buyers. If we weren't predisposed to keep it cleaner he said he would embezzle money out of our deposit to pay for the maid! Is this lawful? The place is a "normal" amount of messy. I mean, in that are some clothes on the ground in my room, usually some dirty plates contained by the sink in the kitchen, and e-mail stacked up on the counter. It definitely is not "gross" by any mode.
Is this legal??
Answers: No, this is not legally recognized. He can pay for the maid AFTER you vacate, but he can not force it up on you while you are renting.
No, you cannot be charged for normal 'wear & tear', nor can you be held liable for special services not specified by mutual agreement surrounded by the lease. You have NO must to maintain it contained by 'saleable' condition on behalf of the owner unless he is providing special compensation TO you for doing so.
The owner can be looking at serious financial penalties if he tries to indecently withhold a portion of your deposit that can substantially exceed the value of what he owes.
Instead of battlefield diplomacy to get what he requirements, he should try diplomatic tactics to draw from it.
Nope, he can't do it unless the "mess" causes actual spoil to the property. Dirty clothes on the floor and dishes in the sink won't do this.
You can turn it around on him. Ask him how much he will repay YOU to allow a maid in to preserve the condo in show condition at adjectives times! After all, you are not the one requesting the maid!
If the guy is really person a jerk around this, there are other things you could do to make him see the lighting! Prospective buyers might be put off while looking at the place if when they come, you and your room mate are sitting around in underwear or smaller number! :)
No he can't force you to hire a maid and he can't legally allow one into your apartment lacking your permission. Humor him and keep hold of the clothes off the floor and dirty dishes wash. There is nothing wrong beside having messages laying on a counter.
