Short of earning in the region of lb70k a year if you're single, just to acquire a mortgage for something basic?Answers: Ive have a mortgage for 18 years and I couldnt afford one now even beside my earning within excess of 25k average house price where I live is very soon lb200k when I bought mine it was lb45k and I struggled after so god only know how people can afford one very soon
Buying a home is a pipe dream now!! I despair and can't see a passageway while my money is going down the drain on rent!!

you can get a 100% mortgage but you are limited to who you can get your mortgage from as not all mortgage providers will lend 100%. You will also be penalised with higher rates etc. I got a 100% mortgage with free valuation fees and no product fee. the rate was 6.49% and it was with leeds building society. it was fixed for 3 years. remember you will need money for your solicitors etc. Also getting 100% mortgage means you wont have any extra to do your house up or decorate.
Can a Massachusetts landlord dictate curtain color in a rental unit, if there's nothing in the lease on this?
Answers: No! You are paying for the place, you are allowed to do what you want within the law.
If there is nothing in your lease there's nothing your landlord can do. You would think if your landlord wanted a certain curtain color he would have purchased them for every unit!
But, I would suggest trying to work with your landlord especially if your going to be there a while.
If it's not in the lease, then no.
HOWEVER! Does the property have a HOA? If so, the rules of the HOA may require this and other rules.
