If you cannot build it yourself, plan on something like $4.00 per square foot for a contractor to put it up. How much it is going to cost to build depends on how big you want it, if you need snow nouns trusses, or other sort of special building requirements to be met, cost to run utilities, there are alot of variables.
Before you set out on a big quest to do this, check beside your local planning department to see if you can even do this. There may be some zoning issue or restriction that says this isn't possible.
it's a pretty suitable idea, but do you want adjectives that plumbing and electric that you have to run for a full-fledged house? what my husband and i did be find a company that builds log cabins. they will build the log villa to whatever stage you want them too. we own it framed in, the plumbing and electric put within and the insulation for approx. $45,000. we then moved into the house and own finished the dry wall, painting, flooring and interior trim slowly as we could afford it. it's be rough for a couple of years but we have finally
finished and it's in good health worth the work. our debt is around $40,000.00 now and the property appraises for $125,000.----so if we want to upgrade we own the equity to do it. (but dang, i'm taking a few months off and resting first). virtuous luck!
