Renting Real Estate Questions and Answers

If unpaid rent is owed, and a partial money is offered as a "settlement," what are your rights? contained by GA

We have behind the times renters that want us to accept partly of what we are owed as a final settlement. In a letter accompining the check, they state that if we bread the check, then we are agreeing to persue them no further. Since we are rightfully and documentably owed twice as much money, enjoy their check in appendage, and have not agreed to adopt their settlement offer, can we bread the check as a partial payment and still walk after them for the remainder? This is in Georgia.

Answers: NO. if you change the check you are accepting their terms.
You have need of to tell them within writing that you will not be accepting such an offer. Send it registered and do mot dosh the check until you have your return account and know they received it.

If i got evicted and they have my stuff in the apt, they said its there property how do I get the stuff out?

Answers: Check your state laws, in my state they can't keep your stuff no matter how much you owe. They will need to garnish your pay unless you pay what you owe but your state might be different.
