What happends after you lose you home do you still have to pay off the 1st and 2nd loan?
Answers: If you lose it through foreclosure, the proceeds from the sale are used to first pay off the creditors. If there is any left, you get it. But the courts hold the funds and you have to petition a judge to get it. Go figure.
If you haven't been in the house long, you might have been paying PMI - this is insurance that protects the lender if you haven't got much equity in the home.
If you lose the home to a natural disaster and have no insurance, I doubt FEMA's payment will cover your mortgages but don't really know the answer to that scenario.
Nope, it's really wonderful to watch if you can manage to get into the room, but the credit fairy comes along and sprinkles magic screw-everybody-I-owe dust all over both mortgages and they just disappear into thin air. Stupid question, stupid answer.
You will have judgments levied against you by the local court. If you ever try to buy real estate again, you will have to pay them off before the deal can go through. Same goes for the taxes I'm nearly certain you also neglected to pay.
It's not a stupid question, not everyone is a knowledgeable as some people like to think they are. When things aren't going well for someone a lot of questions that some people think of as "no brainers" become confusing. Wish you all the best Daisy.
Searching for best mortgage rates?
I am looking for a mortgage - should I give my ss# to everyone I find that sounds honest so they can pull my credit so they can pass me good numbers? Or what is the best channel to shop companies so I don’t get burned.Answers: You should never only give personal information on the first conversation! Get a copy of your credit report ahead of time and report to them your scores. This means of access you can feel them out if someone make you uncomfortable or is pushy verbs!
The best approach is to talk to a few inform them your scores how much you want to put down etc. They should glibly be able to tender you an idea of what you qualify for and what to expect.
you should not enjoy to pay for an appliction but look out of no closing cost loans they cost you alot more than you would think here a contact to prive it. typically you will pay a difficult rate to get a no closing cost loan! so what fees they may enjoy will be costing you for 30 years!
Not a good perception to give that out until it looks promising to find a good deal. I'd try a credit federation first (if you belong or are eligible). Might check places like ING Direct as ably. I'd see a mortgage broker. In that case he will inevitability to pull your report but he can plug info contained by to multiple possible lenders and tell you what looks well brought-up.
Just heard roughly Bank of America's new program too--very interesting--would check that out:

Always compare bottom line to bottom string as everyone wants to fast-talk you. Also bring back a fixed rate and NO prepayment penalty. You'll be glad you did.
RED FLAG! DO NOT GIVE YOUR SOCIAL SECURITY # TO ANYONE...
Not solely are you looking at a negative credit report next to all the lenders checking on your credit you are first performance yourself up to Identity Theft and will never recover soon adequate to have a loan if you find a home. Ask the lender for their rate sheets but be aware that these shift on a daily cause.
No, dont give out our SSN until you hold settled on 2 or 3 lenders. You can check your score at http://annualcreditreport.com for $8 and you can bestow them your score.
Also, don't stop at comparing rates. Ignoring closing costs can cost you thousands of dollars. Make sure you are looking at the total carton, not just the rate.
