New condo owner within Vancouver(previously tenanted) how long do i officially want to live surrounded by it?

In November 07 I purchased a small downtown condo in Vancouver. The condo be previoulsy tennated, and i was told by my material estate agent that legally i cannot rent it for a term of one year as it was purchased while while tennated.(someone be renting it at the time of pruchase)

The closing date for the sale is Feb 1st.

Reccently i be offered an excellent international job starting surrounded by July 08, and i would like to transport it. Is it legal for me to rent out the condo while i'm gone? Are near any options for me? My pay would not be good ample to pay the mortage on the useless condo while i'm gone.


Answers: I don't fully understand the situation from your description, nor the decree specifially in Vancouver, but you might be subject to a rule similar to this (under rent control) if you kicked the tenant out in charge to occupy it.

The easiest way to resolve this would be to provide the condo to someone else before you donate. Then you are out of the game. You probably don't really want the hassle of one an absentee manager out of the country anyway.
The timeline that the realtor mentioned isn't law, it's contained by your strata rules. Check with a partaker of your strata council, or better yet, check the strata rules yourself. You be given copies of all of the rules and regulations of the strata when you purchased the condo.

Check adjectives of your documentation about renting unit in your building, and desire if holding onto the property is right for you. If you live in the county and not the city you will have to get the permits from the county as oppose to the city. The city normally would be where you would start.

Once your project has been completed the city will send a city inspector to approve the work done on the property. This approval should be kept with all your important documents, just in case their is a problem that might arise in the future by someone. This is your proof that you had and got approval to do the job.
