Renting Real Estate Questions and Answers

I'm looking to move down south. I have need of suggestions and/or recommendation for which city to move to?

Hello,

I am currently a resident of Buffalo, NY. I have going on for a year and a half of conservatory left (I'm within grad school).

Anyway, 27 years of cold weather, high taxes, and a stangnant local discount have convinced me that I want to move to a southern city when I graduate. I own neve been down south nor do I know anyone who lives at hand, so it will certainly be a big life span change, but it's something I really want to do.

Here's a record of cities that I've heard some dutiful things about:
Nashville, TN
Memphis, TN
Jackson, MS
Atlanta, GA
Charleston, SC
Columbia, SC
Charlotte, NC
Raleigh, NC

Does anyone enjoy any suggestion or other information for me?

Obviously I'm not going to make a hugh enthusiasm decision base off of information from runeye.com, I'm purely looking for some preliminary inforation from people who are comfortable with these cites such as crime rates, how the ancestors are, how the local economy is, etc.

This is a long shot, but try checking out some local blogs, or the rants and rave sections of cities you are considering of http://www.craigslist.org - those population will gripe about doesn`t matter what is going on in that hard to please city.

I've been to Buffalo a few times, can't say that I blame you for checking out your option. You might miss authentic Buffalo wings, embezzle recipes next to you.
My fiance and I just moved to Raleigh from Michigan, where on earth the economy be terrible!! We moved contained by Aug/Sept. and LOVE it here so far. The weather has be amazing and the place is booming! There is subdivisions going up left and right and tons of things to do, places to shift, stores and new complexes one built everywhere. It is definitly anything but stagnate! There is a lot of traffic but you acquire use to it! We even found things to do down here like rock climbing that we didn't obtain to up north. Some of the lingo is a little different approaching soda instead of pop and what not but it still has some northern virtues to it, so it helped formulate the transition smoother.

I'd utter it depends on if you are looking to live in a city or out within the country.

As for GA, I'd say look into Cobb and Cherokee counties. They are only north of Atlanta. Cherokee use to be thought of as out in the country but within is a lot of growth. Cobb is busy but a nice county. I've lived within GA for all but 4 years of my enthusiasm. I like the reality that we don't often achieve snow but when we do most of the place gets shut down. *grins* You still win the seasonal changes here but we don't grasp that bone chilling cold close to ya'll do in NY.

Atlanta, Raleigh, Memphis, and you left out Savannah, GA are adjectives good bets. Columbia is an armpit. Charlotte have a crumbling socio-economic structure. Jackson is, well it's within MS, leave it at that. Charleston have eliminated the middle class. Nashville is...resourcefully it's okay. It'd be the bottom of the good schedule, though.

I own properties in Raleigh and ATL, and pop in regularly. Raleigh still has a honest RE market (so not several bargains) and ATL will be one of the first to recover. I'm workin near my Realtor there to look for some more investment properties for me, because the deal are good and the investment will appreciate faster afterwards in other cities.

Buying/Selling...Timing?

Looking to purchase a home but need to flog current home first. The dilemna is that the home we want to purchase may not be available for much longer. I know it would be wise to put up for sale first, then buy...but we really love this home. Also, within order to get hold of a better chance at pre-approval, should we provide first...then sort an offer on the brand new home, or does it really matter?


Answers: With the passageway that the market is right in a minute, I would be very shattered of buying a place before you own sold your current place. There is no guarentee that you will sell your house beforehand you close on your new place. Few population can afford to pay two mortgates for fundamentally long.
You could make an extend with a contingency that you go your house first, but if there are abundantly of homes for sale surrounded by your area the buyer may not adopt it or counter with a"kick-out" clause that let them continue to marketplace and receive offers for their house.

If they receive a better grant, you have a set time frame to drop any contingencies, but your original hold out still stands. If you dont/cant drop your contingencies, the seller may flog to the new buyer.
You can craft an offer next to a contingency that your home sells first, but frequent sellers will reject that - they don't want to tie up their home waiting for yours to trade. But it doesn't hurt to try. If your home is not on the market all the same, virtually no seller will consider your submission. If you can price your current home right for your market, it will market.

Where is the best place within the Tampa Area to live?

Anywhere within the tampa nouns is okay. However i need a place next to little crime. Nice weather and not bad on hurricanes. Most work will be at the Tampa Int. Airport on weekends and during the sunshine that is unsure of right in a minute. I want a place where the population are nice and one that is not to expensive. Right presently I live in Atlanta GA and I hatred it and everything about here. I live within a 2BD apartment that sucks with 3 inhabitants and rent is 1025$ a month that doesn't include anything! The weather sucks its cold and theres not a lot to do. Anyone who thought in the order of moving here DON'T! I have lived here for 2 years and moved here from NY IT SUCKS! Anyways looking for a undamaging cheap place to move to in FL. And what is the average salary in FL does anyone know? Not chitchat like Mc.D's or BK but similar to insurance jobs and things close to that!


Answers: I would suggest Town N Country area, plenty of affordable apartments in good health under what your paying very soon. TNC is just west of the airport and have plenty of shopping and employment opportunities. Crime rate around Hillsborough county have dropped over the past 10 years and 2007 have only raisin 2% over the year back. Salary range Plenty of minimal wage job, lots of technical job, and jobs between. I could not find the stats I have came across later year but vegly remember that the average wage was 13.55 and hour But finding a flawless job near benefits is the key..

There are no cheap places to live within the Tampa area that hold a low crime rate. You have to find a thrilled medium. The more crime within the area the cheaper the rent. Try finding a gated community surrounded by the Citrus Park area which is surrounded by the same factor of Tampa as the airport. Pay in Florida is a bit lower than Atlanta but the contract killer is the homeowners insurance. It is very expensive. The housing costs within Florida are coming down so it is a buyer's market if you can draw from approved for a mortgage loan.

I moved from Tampa to Charlotte NC in 1998 and I love it here. Not a huge city approaching Tampa so not as much crime. I love the seasons here too. Fl have nine months of summer and then for a moment relief surrounded by Jan and Feb as it cools down into the upper 70's. I hope you like fry and humidity if you move there.
