Can an Apartment complex charge you satellite fees if satellite is the ONLY opening to draw from TV reception?
My apartment complex uses a big satellite dish to get Direct TV. They report to us we can use any TV service we want to - providing we dont drill through the walls. Well color me pink and slap me - how do you get the cable contained by there?Upon order satellite from Direct TV we get this bill for 6 bucks from a company we own no idea who they are. They are the inhabitants who maintain the satellite. There be no mention of this fee. I looked within the lease and there is no mention of this charge. So if we can't get TV any other channel shouldn't the fee for the satellite be included? I can't catch a separate dish my apt. faces north next to no southern exposure.
Any suggestions are welcome. I'd love to transmit these prigs to sod off.
Answers: 6 bucks? I settle about 80.
Direct tv is not free, they charge for respectively television connected to it.
Cable would cost far more afterwards 6 bucks, I would not be crying about this.
No, because to be exact a luxury and unless it's included in your lease that it's FREE, you own to pay.
Do you earnings for your own electricity? How many electric companies do you bring to choose from? Only one right? See my point?
If you only wages $6 per month for the satellite, then why do you want cable where on earth you would have to clear $40 or more per month?
Sounds like you own a deal.but are complaining about it.
I get your situation , your basically gone without any option since drilling holes is prohibited.
What you have at your apartment complex is a Community Satellite Dish , One dish that picks up the signal and get distributed to every apartment wishing to subscribe to Direct TV.
Pros and Cons
That big dish is better than the ones you bring from Direct TV , the signal quality is much better and is smaller number prone to outages due to rain , unsurprisingly the bigger dish and switches requires more maintenance.
It's probably not worth the hassle of getting into the authenticity of your lease and this undisclosed fee , unless you specifically rented the apartment because of this dish , if the levy is to unbearable patently look into getting a different apartment.
I think you hold a valid point , sounds unethical to charge duty for something you have no choice but to obtain , I wonder how your neighbors feel give or take a few this , maybe as a group you can catch the building to combine Cable or OTA TV signal with satellite signal so that you enjoy other options , it's for a time technical but I construe it can be done without drilling holes.
Very unusual that you can't get cable TV.
Good Luck

Are bank hiding from us the true picture of the mortgage crisis? Afre foreclosures on Small Businesses subsequent?
We are seeing the subprime shake out, and if we are in a cyclical cycle, businesses enjoy to close behind.Answers: Your concerns are my concerns.
I own been arguing this issue starting more or less a year ago.
The stock market never give the sub prime and subsequent credit problems much consideration, seeing how the Dow Jones just forged ahead while big bank were reporting loan problems.
I habitually refer back to the impulsive 1990's, when banks be dropping like flies and their loans be deteriorating.
It's possible we can see a replay of the early 1990's immediately, but I can't say for sure or if it will be as severe.
I do know that several banks are immediately reporting losses and shoring up capital for loan loss provisions, etc. When I hear these same terminologies as they've used contained by the early 1990's, I own to be cautious on the outlook for the entire stock souk.
Problems like these don't simply run away in a flash.
I do know first mitt of people who own bought homes priced way out of their channel, are now facing foreclosure, and are ignore letters one set to them.
If enough folks do this, it has to enjoy a harmful effect on the entire marketplace, because housing and credit play a big part within the market of stocks.
Whether the bank are reporting true figures today is also explanation for concern, because so many own scaled down operation while combining with other bank, that it's conceivable that they are not in tune near reality anymore, and may outstandingly well be mired in an Enron type of mismanagement.
Caution, my friend. I am outstandingly cautious, and exceptionally happy that I moved my money just this minute into safe, low ductile bonds.
I now can sleep resembling a baby.
Most credible, when everyone gets their subsequent statements soon, they may not be able to sleep as resourcefully as I do.
It's not the banks that are hiding the truth...It's the governing body.

The "mortgage crisis" exists because individuals borrowed money with a inconstant rate build in. They purchased houses that would in general been out of "reach" base on the economic status. Now the unsettled rates is going to become effective and the mortgage money will significantly increase. The crisis was created by their own greed and stupidity - couple next to lending companies that saw an opportunity and granted loans to empire that didn't really qualify.
Now the people that made stupid decision want the American taxpayer to "bail them out" - just another example of shortage of personal responsibility.
