I am looking to buy a home in Pinellas (I currently rent surrounded by Tampa). Answers: There are tons nice areas of Oldsmar, Palm Harbor, Dunedin, and Tarpon Springs. If you're still commuting to Tampa, I would look at Oldsmar or the "east lake" section of Palm Harbor more closely. The parts that are surrounded by the "city of Oldsmar" are not deed restricted and some are rather nice. Some are kinda dumpy, you'll have to drive around and establish. "Unincorporated Oldsmar" and almost all of East tarn area is adjectives deed restricted and newer homes. This way you pay homeowner association fees for someone to report to you that you can't park your boat in the driveway. Prices are falling and abundant pre-foreclosures and other deals are out within for a careful buyer. You read out you are wanting somewhere in Pinellas, that county is kinda big, you might want to rob a couple of weekends and drive around and see what area you similar to as well as practical(i.e close to school,shopping,and work.) I moved to TN and still own a townhouse in FL. It have been on the open market for over a year. Can I deduct any chunk of the mortgage or expenses? I know I can deduct interest expense. If this be rented out, I think I would be capable of deduct the HOA fees, and adjectives expenses to offset the rent, or "income" recieved. In the situation beside the house empty, can rent be considered 0, or a loss?


Answers: You can any actually turn it into rental property and write bad your expenses or you can rent it out,TEMPORALLY, with the full intent to trade it and not lose your profit exemption when you do sell it. In other words hold it on the market.
