Renting Real Estate Questions and Answers

What do you know in the region of dealing beside relocating agencies who get rid of houses?

The house we want has be taken over by a relocation office. I've hear they are more difficult to deal next to than regular real estate agents. Anyone out at hand know how they work?

Answers: Yes, I know how they work, and they ARE a pain surrounded by the butt. HOWEVER, the relocation firm will assign a local listing agent of their choice to the property, so near is still a local contact for the property involved. After that point, dealing with a relo firm is much approaching dealing with a lender who owns a REO property. They answer your inquiries and offer when THEY are ready, and come across to have precious little sense of urgency just about anything.

If my home loan is in default and my house is foreclosed, doesn't PMI protect me from a deficiency judgment?

Answers: very few lenders do because they are protected by PMI. Your biggest concern should be the tax bill for the difference between what you owe and what they sell it for. Any settlement of debt causes the amount settled to be reported as income. Fortunately the congress and senate are working on a bill to eliminate that, but who knows if they will make it retroactive, or if they will ever get it done.
