Having A Lodger. Your experiences?!?
We are in the process of buying our 1st house... its 3bed semi, so we hold space for a lodger... We in our impulsive 20s and will be a newly married couple... We don't NEED the money to wages for the mortgage, but it would help near the cost or savings...Was wondering if anyone has/had a lodger and how it be?

Answers: I have lived next to a couple before that owned their own home, and I categorically wouldn't do it again.
Firstly, in my experience it's *not* a suitable idea to live next to the owner of the house; it's much better to be in a share house where on earth you're all renting. This is because (understandably) you are concerned for how your property is treated, and it ends up making the other personage feel resembling it's not their home and they have to be on their best practice at all times. As merely one example, if the lodger came home slowly on night and settled to get a hasty snack but it was so past due that they didn't feel similar to cleaning up after themselves just that once, surrounded by a normal house it would be okay only just to leave it for that hours of darkness, but it's not when you live with the proprietor.
Also, in my experience it's not honourable to be the only single living near a couple. I don't even like to live near couples in share houses, but noticeably not when it's only one other personality and the couple. If there are any disagreements, and it's unconscious that there is going to be the ocassional piece, the couple will end up siding together while the other creature is out on their own.
So, I certainly would never do it again. If you want to pass it ago and prove me wrong, then by adjectives means move about ahead! But, don't be surprised if the lodger wants to move out inside a short timeframe. What I would suggest is, go ahead and draw up a contract next to a potential lodger (and obviously check reference and take a deposit and everything), but don't palm off a timeframe of how long they have to stay - purely let them give notice when they want. The advantage is, since you articulate you don't NEED the money, you can afford to give it a walk and see how it works, and if it doesn't work then cool you can forget adjectives about it.

Well, possibly you can place an ad within some websites where you can state what type of tenant you are looking for, and their age as all right. I would suggest this person would be elder than at least 26-27 years elderly, with a amount, because they usually are the most reliable people. I know outrenthome.com which is a clean free one on the net... but you can use any other sites that you focus might be appropriate. You can also consider letting your spare room to tourists though, so you won't need to enjoy someone sticking his/her roots in your properties lol!
