Answers: Yes and no. I don't resembling paying the current prices at the pump.
To me the worst part of the glorious oil prices is the amount of speculation that have gone into a barrel of grease. If it were a true thought of supply & demand I wouldn't mind paying it. If it be a true reflection of supply & emergency, economics would work to resolve the situation over time.
This current spike in grease prices (& therefore gas prices) have been surrounded by the works for many years. Does anyone remember sub-$1 gas a moment ago 10 years ago? I worked for an oil company when grease was $12-$14 per container. Guess what they decided to invest surrounded by? Only projects where they could achieve oil for ~$5-6 a butt. Big exploration projects take YEARS to come online and cost billions of dollars. So, today when grease is ~$125, maybe that same company decide to invest in projects where on earth the oil will cost them $20 per container (or $30 or $40). This oil will steal years to come online. It will and all the companies are out spending resembling crazy to take power of the high prices.
There is undeniably some speculative nature to current grease prices and many inhabitants suspect the oil pricing is within a bubble. When/if that bubble pops the price of oil will slop dramatically.
If the US could get it's financial house contained by order and own a stronger dollar, that would help slim down the price of oil.
If the US could get hold of it's collective act together and hold a cohesive energy policy (that didn't freshly provide tax breaks for grease companies) that would help cut back oil prices.
Blaming Bill Clinton for big oil prices today is silly. Want someone to blame? Try Ronald Reagan. Jimmy Carter have an energy policy. We be investing in nuclear, solar, etc., within the 1970's. Reagan cancelled all of those projects to fund the military. 30 years worth of work surrounded by those areas could be paying off right in a minute...
By the way, grease prices will not drop in the short permanent status. Gas prices could go up further within the short term. One allusion of a hurricane to the Gulf of Mexico and we could easily be looking at $5 a gallon gas.

Haven't fixed which candidate would be worse for our country (notice not which one would be better as I don't in particular care for any one).

Nope. As long as I don't have to sit within a gas line for 2 hours, no. I'm not upset next to gas prices. I lived through the '70s oil "shortage" and the lines be nightmarish. I vowed then and at hand that I did not care WHAT the price of gas be, as LONG as I didn't have to sit surrounded by line for it, I would payment it.
I drive a midsize SUV that gets to a certain extent good gas mileage (I can shift two weeks between fill-ups) and I"m not giving THAT up either.
I own zero sympathy for Hummer owners.

I'm very upset in the order of the oil companies and president Bush for not doing anything give or take a few it! Trade your truck in for a motor that gets better gas mileage. That is what I did (I have an Expedition). It now individual cost me $50 to fill up! I'm not complaining around gas prices anymore!
