Relocating to Raleigh. Any suggestions on apartment complexes in and around dowtown?
Answers: There are a wearing clothes number of apartment complexes or buildings in downtown Raleigh. Most are not really big, so if it doesn't have a see, you'll still need to ask around.
Boylan Apartments is probably one of the nicest at the moment. But not as cheap as others.but beautifully restored just this minute to its historical image.
Cameron Court is one of the largest.for a few years they have some management issues, but word on the street is that a unusual manager is cleaning things up again. Worth checking out at smallest, since because of their size they are the most likely to enjoy some available units.
Grosvenor Gardens have the best landscaping...but they are smaller studios if you're into that.
The Raleigh Apartments are merely "barely" in downtown...but they are worth a look if your budget is tight. They are also a dutiful proximity to a shopping center for groceries, etc.
Capital Apartments is in the best location...two blocks from City Market. However, they seldom ever have opening.
Cityscape Apartments are on a nice wooded lot just outside a historic district...but they too not often have opening.
Gateway Park is nice and brand new...but I believe they enjoy income restrictions. (They told me I made too much to live there...peculiar!)
Elizabeth Apartments are in a great location close to lots of dining and nightclubs. However they are kinda small.
Chavis Heights is a untried complex where some dated housing projects were torn down. The current development is pretty and nice, but it's not as close to the downtown core as some others.
Carlton Place is another nice and tentative one...but I hear they have income restrictions on most (but not all) their unit. Still worth checking out to see if any of their regular units are available.
There are also a worthy number of other smaller, random apartment buildings, duplexes and quads. Few beside names that I know of. Also the arbitrary apartments on the upstairs of a retail building...like you typically see surrounded by downtown areas. You can check Craigslist to see if any are up for rent.
Also, you'll find the occasional condo, house or townhouse in the downtown nouns up for rent. Keep your eyes out on listings for them...they are sometimes not much more money than an apartment.
Fortunately more apartments are on the way...one huge one is under construction as we speak.
