I am moving to Seattle soon, am not familiar near the city, and don't know anybody there. I will call for to find a place to live (most likely an apartment).
What's the best mode to do this? I will be rolling into town with a smallish U-Haul jam-packed with adjectives my things, and my dad will be following in my vehicle.
Should we drive around the 1st day and find a place for me to move into? Or put my stuff into storage and live contained by a motel until I find somewhere to live? I'm clueless. What worked for you??
Answers: You should go stop by first before you pack up your stuff and drive blindly around! Go for the weekend. Drive around (when you are not lower than pressure) and check things out and see what areas appeal to you and how much they cost. Also, pick up some of the local for rent books and magazines that they usually hold at the grocery store. This will give you an opinion of the neighborhoods and price ranges. Some places will not necessarily have opening, but may be expecting someone to move out soon. Also, if you don't find anything, you can still use the magazines when you attain home to continue your force out on the internet and by phone. We did this when we moved to Vegas from LA. We didn't find a place that weekend, but we were competent to look up floorplans from the internet and rented a place over the phone. It worked out ok, but make sure you sign a short lease (6 months) surrounded by case you don't resembling it. Also, check out some online rental places before you turn. The one below looked pretty good. Good luck!
I used to be a legitimate estate agent and am now a concrete estate assistant. If I were you, I would attain online and do a little research just about the area you're moving to, so you can possibly draw from an idea of what areas you might want to live contained by and what the best deals are. I would also research genuine estate companies in that nouns and call one. I know definite estate is not the same everywhere, but someone will probably be feeling like to inform you of what you would need to do to bring a place, and possibly even email you rental listings so you can keep an eye on the marketplace there and what's going to be available to you when you grasp there, possibly even find a process to secure a place to live beforehand you arrive. Ask if they have any sensitive of relocation package they can convey you to help you be prepared. Do you hold employment lined up? Without that, you'll find it in close proximity impossible to even get an apartment. Go in attendance first and get things feint up before you "roll surrounded by town" with adjectives your stuff.
