Broken lease due to domestic severity?

Last year at the end of August 2007 I broke my lease due to a domestic bombing situation. I recently found out that the apartment complex didn't put it on my credit until January of 2008. I know Texas Law states that I can break my lease due to domestic violent behaviour if I provide the complex a copy of a protective order. All I hold is the police report from the incident. I didn't know what to do back afterwards and just fled. What are my probability of getting rid of that broken lease if I just provided the complex near the police report and no protective order? Also, do you meditate I would be able to dispute the broken lease due to the reality that I did move out in the finishing of August 2007 and it shows up on my credit as January 2008?

I've tried looking things up online, but just can't appear to find much to assist me.

Answers:   You can't dispute the date, it simply took them that long to get to court and capture a formal eviction.

your best bet is to call your apartment examiner and discuss the sisutaion. bring documentation. show that this incident occured. but in trueness you fled and are not in the right. even though u be domestically abused, ur name is on the lease and u needed to provide notice, speak to amanger and clarify that you be vacating and beside their permission to be removed. most cases u needed to follow through beside an order of protection to be absolve of your lease which y ou didnt. therefore since u didnt follow through on ur lapse ur more than likely liable for this debt. gossip to them and see their willing to slim down it or what you can do to reduce it.
