Broker for an apartment?

I want to rent an apartment in Brooklyn New York, but the things I see online that are for rent short a broker are not great and seem to be slim pickings. Is it better to use a broker and recompense the extra money or try and find something on my own despite it not looking too good? It is June in a minute and I need to find out of my current place the end of December.

However, that doesn't aim you can't find by-owner apartments - it will just help yourself to some extra work and patience. Keep checking the by-owner article of craigslist or try services like rent-direct.com (I intuitively haven't tried this site). Also try walking around the neighborhoods you're interesting in - some landlords post signs for available unit.

Since you don't need a place until the lapse of the year, you probably don't need to start looking until the birth of November at the earliest.
