First of adjectives, let me freshly say that house prices within San Francisco are extremely high! Even for partly a million, it would not buy you much if anything at all! The Bay Area is extremely expensive-I used to live in that and even renting is extremely high. SF is a gorgeous city-I have walk over the Golden Gate bridge several times with my inherited! But, unless you are making a huge salary you will not know how to afford a mortgage payment because even the surrounding areas hold homes that are at least a million dollars plus!

You should do some research and see and you would be outstandingly surprised. Even as far north as I lived in Petaluma (where race commuted to SF), you would have to wage at least $400,000 in recent times to get a serious 3 bed, 2 bath, 1300-1400 sq ft home-and that be several years ago! I'm sure now it is at most minuscule $600,00 for the same size home which is not greatly big.

Good luck! The San Francisco Bay Area is a beautiful place but you really necessitate a good duty to be able to live here comfortably. Good luck!
