Major Dilemma...My friend is subletting a room from these people who enjoy leased a total townhouse from the owner. The owner has visit the house & has see my friend living there. The owner is very soon trying to sale the house & have an open house yesterday, so she be there cleaning for the undo house. She advised my friend to ensure that her room be tidy. My friend left & go out after cleaning the room & when she got backbone there be a note on her bed unfolding her that she was dishonestly (owner had no knowhow of it) subletting the room from the other people & that she have 24 hours to vacate the property or she would be charged with trespassing!! She have paid her rent for this month & have a legal and binding contract next to the people who are leasing from the owner.
My sound out is..is this legal? Is surrounded by VA...what avenues can my friend pursue?

She's not "trespassing" since she is there beside the consent of the tenant, who is the person next to the legal right of possession. The proprietor has no right to evict her since the innkeeper has no right of possession of the house. Sorry hon, that's a problem being "working poor" within this country. Did you sign up for Federal housing, even though it had a "HUUUGE" detail? Some housing is better than no housing, you can always move out. Unfortunately, big city, long list. Try the women's shelter, apply at the battered housing shelter, I don't care if you be battered, get your kids a place to stay. Try friends, family circle you hate, ask for money to draw from to a support system. Do whatever it take to get a roof over your kid's head and make sure they're contained by school, come August/Sept. If it's impermanent until you get grant/loan, apt, doesn`t matter what! If you have a relative who would be feeling like to take them contained by 'til you get it together, that would work. People did it during the depression.
Never be so proud that you'd verbs your kids down with you. Stuff happen and it's hard to support a people. Just do your best, especially if that means providing the best place for your kids. That make you a SUPER MOM! Even if that means they're not next to you.
