NYC is RIDICULOUSLY expensive with studios the size of a adjectives bathroom going for over $1000 a month. I never saw one that bad surrounded by California...but who knows.
Also, the those in NY are not as pleasant to live near as the people contained by CA. The weather here sucks horribly in comparison as capably.
