my sister just told me that her manager is trying to raise her rent... here is what she said (i delete some verbage for the kids/ladies): he wants to elevate my rent bc i asked him to replace my blinds, fix the leaky kitchen faucet, and put a real lock on the garage door... her bike be stolen out of the garage her first week there. what if anything can i read aloud to the landlord to prevent him from raise rent because he doesn't appreciate requests from tenants? thank you surrounded by advance for your direction, oh and we're in Texas if that matter.

Same near the garage door lock, you don't think its right enough? I can put a investigational one on but it will be your expense.

Leaky faucet he should fix but while annoying it may be a few days until maintenance get there.

Sorry Christine but in attendance is not ONE SINGLE THING on her list that would surpass the legal requirements to withold rent (ie life/safety/habitability) and lawful aid would LAUGH at her if she came within over this MINOR stuff.

1) how long she have been contained by this apt
2) what type of lease (month to month? 6 mo? year?)
3) in what course is the landlord trying to elevate her rent? was he in words venting? or did he in actuality send something contained by writing?

Sounds like you enjoy what we refer to as a typical azzhole landlord.look for another place if your not merry there...or fix the problems yourself, and he might make higher it anyway.or demand that he fix the problems and update him that if he raises the rent ANY, that you will move and he can move about back to finding a tenant who pays their rent prompt...
