Roommate law?

My husband and I are finding ourselves in a bind financially and are going to be getting a roommate to assist with the mortgage payments. I am concerned in the order of the process of what I can do if the person chooses not to settle up rent, pays late, steals, etc. Can I simply see them out and change the locks? What if I come home and find my house have been cleaned out? How can I prevent these things? ANY ADVISE, especially LEGAL recommend would be of great help. It's better to be prepared I right to be heard.

Answers:   You would have to submit all the landlord/tenant rental law of the state you live in. If you have issues with your renter, you would enjoy to go through the legitimate process of eviction. If anything else happened, resembling theft, etc, you would own to make a police report. Google (your state) rental law, and you should find them.
