UK Tenants - What did you own to do to find a flat to rent? Do you hold to compensate a solid estate agent?

I was a short time ago looking at some flats online, a real estate agents website, and here was a use application form. I'm fine with that, but in that was a 200 pound excise to process the application and if it is denied, it is non refundable. Is this normal?

Answers:   I would voice the best places to look are local newspapers, here will be no agent fee's to deal near just a deposit and possibly one monthe rent in finance. the 200 fee will be a short time ago to process an application that doesnt include them finding you a place and other legal fees for contracts. i would look through the article!
