I think this is why it's best to grasp a fixed rate instead of leaving your mortgage undo. I the first place though, I think folks should look at whether they can afford their house or not.. I don't think there's anything you can do unless you bring within a tenent, or rent out some of your rooms to students. It'll be tough, but you get to keep hold of your home.. Also get a fixed rate.
