Which one would you buy?

The gorgeous new model home surrounded by a great new community that's a bit out of the instrument and not so great schools?

Or

The nice existing home that wants work (some of it could be serious and expensive) in a great established neighborhood and is also a bit out of the style.

The model home is $100K higher, but it's move contained by ready. The existing home probably wishes at least a $100K (maybe more) surrounded by improvements, but would be a dream home when completed.

Thanks.

What's a perfect first present on this home?

Answers:   It depends, do you plan to stay or is this an investment?

I would take the existing home, it is built better later anything you can get today, where on earth houses are build as cheap as possible. Also great neighborhoods tend to stay that way.

In the finish it will cost about matching as the model home, but it will be exactly as you want it to be, YOUR home, not anyone elses, not anyone elses "dream".

Capital Gains press: I sold a condo, and will necessitate to foot wealth gain;how is this calculated?

if a house needs that much money put contained by to it for the love of GOD dont waste your money on it it sounds approaching a sesspool if it needs that much money put surrounded by to it also if it is bad school and a long distance away the other one doesnt sound honest either hang on to looking and you will find the perfect one great school, not to far from where you want and not inevitability a 50 year pay stale just to repair it Depends--do you enjoy kids? If so then the school are a factor. If not, I'd go for the move surrounded by ready home. 100K worth of work seem like A LOT can you afford to live elsewhere while that work is person done? It would be like paying a mortgage PLUS rent on another place you can live at impossible to tell apart time.

My Sister and I are planning to move out - She have no income - Do I still hold to put her on the application?

I personally would bring back the new model home that's surrounded by move-in condition. But then again, I don't own kids and I live in a small state, where on earth nothing is really "out of the way"..

But the elder home once fixed up could appreciate over the years.
