Can a candle-maker be sued if a fire occur?

I'm a stay-at-home-mom making extra income by selling candles on ebay. I place a warning sticky label on the bottom of all my products more or less safe candle use. I'm not an ceremonial business and so I have no liability insurance or anything. My examine is... if someone uses my candle and is negligent, resulting within a house fire, can I be held rsponsible? Thanks.

Answers: The reality is anyone can attain sued for anything...The questions is will the suit be successful and how much will it cost to look after.

I only own one suggestion...Get liability insurance before you put up for sale any more candles.

You say your not an formal business but what you really are is an illegal business, that is to say not the same item. If you are selling you are an official business, put together it legal as soon a possible and procure insurance. If you where to be sued you hold no insurance, no liability limitations as you would under some business entities, and you are visibly not collected sales import tax as you are required to do under the decree. Even if a lawsuit was not successful the cost of defending it and the fallout could cost plenty.

If you do adjectives of that it might take away any profit you've be seeing. If it does you can either come up near a strategy to sell more, bump up prices or you may decide the business isn't worth the physical exertion. But continuing to operate as you are can lead to bigger trouble.
I would notably doubt it, but you might want to put a little notification label on them, I presume other candles do. Just say that candles should never be moved out unattended, burned for longer than X hours and never used by children.
Good luck with your business!
They could try but I've never hear of anyone suing a candle maker from ebay. I have an idea that you'll be fine with only the warning sticky label itself, maybe put in that "there will be no held responsibility of any accident that occur including fire from misuse" to your sticky label.

When people hold fires the last article they think of is "who made the product?" and the police will mostly credible credit the owners with it especially if they be irresponsible.
no you cant because most people within the world know that candles need fire and its up to them to wish where to put it and mind around it
but if all of a sudden the candle exploded or something and after burnt down the house consequently heck yeah but ive never head of anything approaching that happening
anyways if they did try to sue you i reason a judge would a short time ago laigh and no lawyer would want to tak etheir satchel unless they wanted a perfect laugh

I am a 23 year feeble mother contemplating the pros and cons of slit my own daycare. Seeking warning!?

I spend about 20% of my annual income on daycare for my three year prehistoric son. I am thinking about first showing my own daycare, but don't know where to originate. I live in the state of MN. I enjoy a three bedroom, one bathroom house, but would really prefer to rent or lease a place in town for the keeping center so I can keep my home from becoming my business. I realize this defeits the purpose of positive money on sending my son to daycare, but I would gain having him beside me all morning. I am looking for some advice from current comfort providers on what works for them as far as policies, etc. Also, how long does it take to aquire a license? Any info. would be long-suffering. Thanks!

Answers: I live in MN,

My daycare license took just about 2 months(because my dc licensee be on maternity leave) - but, I reflect on it usually takes in the region of 1 1/2 months(i'd call and breed sure) - it depends upon if your house is okay to have it surrounded by. For me, I had to hold a fire inspector and the licensor come and check everything out -there are also grants to abet you start up - If the licenser or the fire inspector needs you to tweaking something.
heres a URL
http://www.midwestchildcare.com/
on the left side- "grants"
they also can serve you with toys etc - you'll hold to read up on it. for this one - if you get the give in - you need to do a unshakable amount of 'classes'... they would just be classes contained by your area or somewhere - that have to do with children - etc- you can procure signed up where they distribute you a pamplet that says where on earth the classes are in your nouns.
here is another great URL to go to - to cram about license.
http://www.mnchildcare.org/reqlic/index.
at the right side: family child diligence homes.

We don't need seperate bathrooms for boys and girls similar to the other answer - Wow- that wouldn't work for me!
We have to pilfer a 8 hours of training every year(should be some in your area) you would enjoy to do SIDS training (every 5 years) --- you would have to hold a child passenger restraint system class - (every 5 years) You would have to cart a CPR class (this is every 3 years - unless you just do the shorter class-that would be every 1-2 years) - you involve to take a shaken toddler class - (this can be taken with the sids training class) this one is every 5 years also.
you own to keep accurate documentation of kids you have surrounded by daycare (admission papers - they have to be up to date beside immunization etc - licensor give you all these papers).
you own to do a monthly fire escape drill -
you write up your own daycare policy to give to parents. some daycares charge even when the children are not within - some daycares give a 10 free days(meaning - 10 days a year that if your kids are sick etc - you do not charge).

and, I'm not sure in the region of finding a business in town to enjoy it - not sure if you would make as much money within that - as a home daycare? you'd have to come up next to the rent.

You can get different license - at first you start out -it would befor a Family child care is : 10 or a lesser amount of children at one time - with no more than six lower than school age. so you are restricted in the amount of children you can hold.
Then after a year - you can get a diff. license where on earth you can have more children. (12 children - 10 lower than school age) - you'd hold to read up on that -
Also, for daycare - you can sign up for a food program - you write down everything the kids eat etc---and they reimburse you for it at a indubitable amount for bf, dinner, snacks.

hope this helps!
I live within MO. and there are deeply strict rules about daycares here, and i am pretty sure they are nation huge. You have to enjoy seperate bathrooms for boys/girls, you have to hold a seperate kitchen/bathroom area than what your loved ones uses. If you are going to take state compensate there are a ton of rules/regulations that you hold to pass, and you enjoy monthly checks from the state to see if you are complying. Not only that but you are solitary allowed so many children per grown. Depending on the childrens ages the ratio can be be pretty small. I don't think here is much money to be made in owning a daycare, but you would go and get to spend time with your own child.
