i went to apply today.. they told mee they income the minimum wage which is $7.65 were i live (connecticut).. and they tender you 50 cents per delivery plus you keep hold of all tips...do you feel thats good? considering you enjoy to buy your own gas.. im not sure what hours i would be workin but something close to around 6 hours a day... what do you reckon??

Answers: Honestly, it's not a good deal. I used to work as a pizza nativity guy. The money sounds good at first, but you own to pay for your own gas. On top of that, you enjoy to factor in vehicle depreciation due to the extra miles you put on your sports car. On top of all specifically the fact that your vehicle will obligation to be repaired more often, and it won't run as long because short trips are hell on your saloon, idling for that long isn't biddable for your car, turning your saloon on and off that much isn't obedient for it. Factoring all of these things together, within the end, you may in reality end up making smaller amount than minimum wage from working there due to adjectives the money that is drained out through your motor. Be wary of getting into something approaching that.
50cents per delivery is the equivalent of driving 1 mile per confinement. If you drive more than that, you are losing money. All tips have to be reported to the employer because they are taxable income. If they let somebody know you not to report the tips, they are breaking the law.

The IRS would, contained by theory, tolerate you deduct the excess, but you'd enjoy to itemize to see a difference in your taxes.
My sister within law works as a pizza transfer person -- it's not that great of a work. On top of being an unreliable source of income (lousy tips), the wear and break on her car is absurd. She has to purchase tires at lowest twice a year, and has have her brakes worked on many oodles many times. All the stopping and starting is complex on her vehicle.

Also, some insurance companies refuse to insure vehicle that are used for pizza delivery.

Hope this information give you some "food for thought" -- and all you reader out there, be sure to tip the pizza confinement person!
ALRIGHT! a cross-question I can answer! 7.65/hr is better than average (considering my location, and I pay my drivers 6.00) 0.50/run is derisory (unless your delivery nouns is less than 3 miles (I settle 1.25 with an average capacity of 5 miles at my store) and if you are in a conceivably decent nouns you can expect tips between 2 and 3 dollars. (again my area) My drivers can take 2.5 -4 delivery per hour (four being my awesome top tier drivers) so i would enunciate you are losing out unless you are in a big volume store (20+ thousand dollars per week) with smaller quantity than 10 drivers in a small nouns. my suggestion is call around between 10-4 mon-thur and agree to the gms of the delivery places in the vicinity you or not far away but in a better nouns. its worth a 10 minute longer drive to get to a better nouns, if nessesary.
