Where can I find an independent company that will publish a magazine?
I am looking for an independent company to publish my magazine that I am creating. It would be small scale amounts, no more than 3000 copies per issue and would be circulated inwardly a small community. Where can I find information on this and does anyone know any good companies? I enjoy searched the internet but hold found nothing adjectives. ThanksAnswers: Traditional 'publishing' companies won't touch a small run like yours. You necessitate to contact a commercial printer. Avoid quick printing, but do consider a digital printer. They will print for a charge. You could sell media hype in your publication to cover costs. If you get rid of enough there's a profit or you can put up for sale your magazine for the profit.
Here's what you need to win an accurate quote: Qty, page size, page count, stock [paper type] and ink; what pages print what colors or bw. A particularly good starting point is a 32 page booklet., 8.5 x11. Full color throughout on gleaming, qty 300 will run you approx $750.
Contact your local chamber of commerce and ask for a referral. Be concise and they will point you in a polite direction. Publishing can be a great business. Here's a couple of rules of thumb...Ad content < 33%. Full color minimum 50% of your pages. People will settle for good content. Spend 50% of your time selling [writing is easy]. Answers: It really depends on what kind of business you are looking at starting and whether or not you are expecting to need a business loan. I always start by recommending that you do whatever you can to improve your credit.
Why is it bad?
Delinquencies? Late payments? collections? High amounts of credit card debt?
Credit is something that will take you about 5 seconds to destroy and years to rebuild. If a lot of the issue is high credit card debt it can help your credit score to turn that into an installment loan (one that has a monthly payment and is paid off in a set amount of time), it reports differently on your credit and can improve your score. You can start a business, but you won;t be able to get credit. If you are looking to rent a building, you might have problems with that.
People don't realize how inportant credit is, until they have bad credit.
