How Do I Apply For Business Funding And Grants?

Answers: Take a look at www.mustard.uk.com they are a government linked organisation that provide funding and grants for new business starts ups and ventures. We gained funding through them ourselves and they are a great source of information. Good luck!
It is hard to find grants to start a business. Unlike the myths that some perpetuate, federal government and even private foundations hardly give grant money for starting a for-profit business.

One possible exception is for companies developing or exporting agricultural goods, including food and forest product. Another exception could be the Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR) or Small Business Technology Transfer (STTR) programs http://www.sba.gov/aboutsba/sbaprograms/... , which fund the research and development of technological innovation that meets specific government needs.

Your best bet actually will be from the states if they offer grant programs for women (or any other special interest groups -- minorities, women, disabled, veterans, etc). Or check with non profit organizations, particularly women organizations if they offer grants. Examples include

Iowa Women's Foundation http://www.iawf.org/
New Mexico Women's Foundation http://www.nmwf.org/guidelines.html

Even SBA does NOT give out grants. From the SBA website http://www.sba.gov/mostrequesteditems/CO...

"The U.S. Small Business Administration does not offer grants to start or expand small businesses, although it does offer a wide variety of loan programs. (See http://www.sba.gov/financing for more information) While SBA does offer some grant programs, these are generally designed to expand and enhance organizations that provide small business management, technical, or financial assistance. These grants generally support non-profit organizations, intermediary lending institutions, and state and local governments."

Nonetheless, you can go to the Catalog of Federal Domestic Assistance (CFDA) http://www.cfda.gov and Grants.gov http://www.grants.gov - these are two sites created by the federal government to provide transparency and information on grants. Browse through the listings and see if you can find any grant that would support a for-profit venture.

Here is a listing of federal grants for small businesses. See if there is any available for individuals for starting a business -- THERE'S NONE.
http://12.46.245.173/pls/portal30/CATALO...

Most of the federal grants are given to specific target groups with specific requirements (e.g. minority business owners involved in transportation related contracts emanating from DOT - Grant#20.905 Disadvantaged Business Enterprises Short Term Lending Program

Grants are also often given to non profit groups or organizations involved in training or other similar activities (grant 59.043 Women's Business Ownership Assistance that are given to those who will create women's business center that will train women entrepreneurs

For private grants, you may want to check the Foundation Center's Foundation Grants for Individuals Online http://gtionline.fdncenter.org . It's a subscription based website ($9.95 per month) but their opening blurb only says that the database is ideal for "students, artists, academic researchers, libraries and financial aid offices." Entrepreneurs are apparently not one of them, so I take it they also don't have listings of private foundations who give grants to would-be entrepreneurs.
contact your local chamber of commerce they will have all the information you need, it as to be your local one because different areas have different grants available depending on the status where you live.
the princes trust will only help if you are in the lower age bracket 25 and below generally

How do i get started to sell items on EBAY? Does it cost me money to sell on Ebay?

Answers: Your first stop should be eBay's Guide to Seller Services http://pages.ebay.com/help/sell/services...

eBay's Seller Central has all the resources you need to learn about the basics of selling on eBay http://pages.ebay.com/sellercentral/inde...

The key to a successful eBay selling is simple -- Sell products that people actually want.

Selling on eBay is not as easy as some portray. In fact, go to eBay and check out the number of auctions that end without a single bid. Competition is getting tough, as more sellers go to eBay; even the big boys are joining in the eBay marketplace. Add to that the increasing listing and final value fees.

eBay has several ways for you to determine exactly what the hot items to sell on their marketplace:

Items In Demand = the most popular items currently within that particular category. To see the In Demand page, go to http://pages.ebay.com/sellercentral/sell...

Hot Items by Category Report = a monthly report that lists the fastest growing categories on eBay for the previous month. Go to http://pages.ebay.com/sellercentral/what... and select "Hot Items by Category" from the menu on the left.

eBay Pulse = "a daily snapshot of current trends, hot picks, and cool stuff on eBay". Go to http://pulse.ebay.com/ to see eBay Pulse in action.

Merchandising Calendar = eBay promotes specific categories on its home page each month. Savvy eBayers know that this home page exposure results in more interest in such categories. Go to http://pages.ebay.com/sellercentral/cale... to view the current Merchandising Calendar.

And yes, you will pay for selling on eBay

1 - listing fees whether your item sells or not
2- optional listing upgrades (gallery, bold, second category, etc)
3 - final value fees

Ebay also has a number of products that can help you manage your listings and all, except Turbo Lister, has monthly fees.

eBay is getting EXPENSIVE.
Hi, Steph!

If you don't mind, let me clear something up about eBay really quickly.

Most people think that eBay is something that will make them a lot of money.

It's not.

It's a TOOL that will help your PRODUCT make you a lot of money.

So you need to concentrate on having a REALLY good product!

Let me try to give you some advice on creating a product:

1. Find a problem, need, or want in people's lives
2. Address the problem and solve it
3. Create a product selling your solution
4. Market your solution to the people with the problem
5. Review how well it's working/not working
6. Review the product and change it if needed
7. Wash, rinse, and repeat!

Good luck!

-Andy
Ebay charges you fees depending on your listing (how many PICS etc) and on the actuall selling price.
Clothes and Pet Items work great on e-bay. I buy at times at thriftstores brand name clothes and resell them. Unfortunaley the income on e-bay isn't very steady and it takes soooo much effort and GAS (lol)...

I wasted tons of hours and even some money trying to find online jobs. I found all to be scams.
I talked to a Dog Breeder who signed me up to buy Natrual Dog Food and I loved it and than decided to sell Natrual Pet Food myself. Kind of like Mary Kay but not as stressful.
It is not an easy quick money scam. It requires work, but you can do it on your own hours and actually make a decent income.
I distribute business cards, flyers, talk to Pet Rescues, Breeders, Trainers and Vets etc.
Also do some online marketing.
This is the only thing that really worked for me.
If you like Pets check out: www.HealthyTownandCountryPets. , click on the opportunity link.
Also if you like Make up or Food there are companies out there you can do the same kinda business, which is all Network Marketing. As long you actually work on it you can make a full income.

Good Luck ;-)

Feel free to e-mail if you have questions.

Want home base part time job and must be genuine. Can recommend.?

Answers: Hello Friend,

I did all that! Ad posting, Data entry, Data processing, conversion to doc file etc by paying deposits, purchasing soft wares, tool kits etc. I had earned NOTHING! Finally I joined the following site for FREE and have access to Webmasters and Programmers on one forum like this. I am earning and outsourcing here. Don’t go after Big Dollars and offers – it is not going to work. Use your skills, capabilities and work hard. Try and flourish here.

The goal of the site is to be a meeting place for serious business people. As a buyer, you have a project you need done that will help you or your business grow and prosper. The sellers on this site are here because they too are trying to make a decent living. They’re willing to provide the services that buyers need, and all they ask in return is to be paid a fair amount for their time and skills.

The site was not designed to be a discount super center specializing in providing top-notch skills at rock-bottom prices. For this business to grow and attract high-quality buyers and sellers, every attempt must be made to use standard business practices and pricing when creating and bidding on projects.

You can receive a lot of value from your association with the professionals who sell their services here. Find such two sites on this blog and be a member of these sites for FREE. http://geturjobneeds.blogspot.com/

Thanks
Shekar
If you are in the US, I can send you some links to two sites who have listings of legit "virtual jobs'.

Unfortunately most of the people spamming you here don't really know if what they are offering is legit or not. But if you are looking for a JOB and there is no application, interview process, acceptance process, paid training, etc. it is NOT a job and more likely than not - a scam to get you to provide your efforts for their benefit --- NOT yours.
