A free standing structure built 4 yrs ago have collapsed..?
Situation: 4 yrs ago company (A) subbed out a job to contractor (B). 2 yrs. subsequent contractor (B) sold his company name to contractor (C). Now the structure built 4 yrs ago by sub(B) collapsed due to an bad-mannered build. (A) now comes to (C) [who have absolutly nothing to do next to this project] to make flawless on the problem for free. When contractor (C) purchased (B's) company, the name be legally changed and is "doing buisness as" the signature that was purchased. Even though the orig. crew remains matching this is legally a contemporary & different Co. This job be done personally by the aged owner of (B). The crew was never involved. Records of this duty don't exist and (A) never even obtained permit for this work to be done. (A) has have a buisness relationship with (C) since the purchase and is presently threatening the relationship if he doesn't make biddable. Is this proper - should (C) be expected to do the fix for free? Or is(A) being unreasonable. How should this be handle? Any thoughtsAnswers: Since records don't exist and and Company (A) never obtain permits, Company (A) is human being unreasonable with Company (C).
Since it is unjust to build without getting proper permit and filing library.
It depends on how the contract for the new owner of the company is worded.
If in attendance is an addendum contained by the contract that relieves the new owner from individual responsibility to customers who have work done before the company be transferred, then you hold no legal recourse.
Also, you will inevitability a lawyer since the company have no legal responsibility to disclose that information to anybody who asks.

While it should be done for free, and citizens should go to top-security prison. You need to find an attorney and contact the town's building inspector to get involved. Someone is going to send down!!
Of course, you are covered by insurance, and most likely they will progress after the builder.
Good Luck
