Would I requirement a business license for this?

I am 17 years old and am looking to instigate a little summer business.
I am going to be selling frozen treats(ice cream, popcilces etc.) out on the river of Lake Huron. So it will be like an Icecream boat instead of an icecream truck.
I've be on the water since I be born so having and individual able to operate the boat is taken prudence of- but what I need to know is if I entail a business license to do this. If so what kind and how would I come by one.
Thanks!

Answers: Business license and/or possibly a Health Department permit to go packaged food. Also engineer sure your parent's homeowners coverage provides some liability coverage for this exposure via endorsement unless you hold a boat policy in force, and even after you want to verify. You may want to inquire with local official to determine exactly what would be required.

Good luck.
Yes, I would suggest a local business licence. Visit your local Government office and budge to licencing branch and apply for a licence. That would save you from adjectives troubles. I appreciate your are starting a business and I would suggest you to visit this website too http://www.mutualbargains.ca/ and that would relieve you a lot to set your latest business.
Good Luck.

Getting into the bulk candy contraption business?

First off I want to clarify so within is no confusion , the "bulk candy machines" are the quarter turn machines not the large snack vending machines.
I own about $8,000 to start my business beside. I want to start a route however Im not sure wether I should go next to bulk candy machines or soda/snack machines. Both seem to own their advantages . Right now im partiality towards going with bulk candy machines , although the profit side-line is low (I heard the average is around $20 a month each ) I guess that if i had adequate of these little machines I could get rotten to a good start next to my $8,000 investment. I figure I could buy in the order of 60 of these machines used :

Investment (not including candy /gas )

60 used machines = $6,000

60 hired locations for machines = $2000

Projected Profits :

Average daily sale per machines 0.33 cents= 1.32 sales per afternoon /per machines

Average sales per apparatus /per month = $20

Monthly gross = $20 x 60 machines = $1200

Let me know what you think.

Answers: It nouns like a great plan. Make sure you service your route. Look to expand selling snack products to convenience stores.

What does a franchise actually mean?

Answers: You are buying a part of a large company. There are different methods of operation depending on the product, but basically you can use the companies name and logo. You may have to buy your raw materials from them. You may have a specific area to service and they will direct prospective clients in your area to you. They will probably provide advertising, but at the end of the day, after all their deductions the profit is yours.
Where the company allows others to use their brand name etc to sell products. I'll give an example.

Subway is a franchise, the company allows people to pay a fee and they get given the food, uniforms, signs and leaflets etc. The person goes and buys a place for the the shop and they both make money.

It means the company can grow fast, instead of spending money and time setting up and running individual shops themselves.
Franchising is a business method that involves the licensing of trademarks and methods of doing business, or an exclusive right, for example to sell branded merchandise. Franchising (from the French for honesty or freedom) is a method of doing business wherein a "franchisor" authorizes proven methods of doing business to a "franchisee" for a fee and a percentage of sales or profits.

Hope it helps,

Hi,
A franchise is a legal authorization granted by a company to sell or distribute its goods or services in a certain area. In most cases, the "franchiser" charges the "franchisee" a fee for using it's name as well as a percentage of the annual sales. Also, they may have strict guidelines relating to the type of building and the products that may be sold. In addition, they may also require that all product be purchased from the authorizing company.
Franchising as a formula can be applied to a wide range of businesses. Traditionally, retailing and catering have been major areas, but there is now a move towards more domestic and business-to-business services.
There are nearly 700 franchise systems currently operating in the UK. Some are very well known: for instance, McDonalds, Burger King, Kall Kwik and Dyno Rod.

Around 30,000 people have chosen to take the franchise route and the options available are extremely varied. There are also a number of ways in which you can become involved in running a business as a franchisee.

Are you right for franchising?

Although you will have back-up and support, you will still be working for yourself. You will need to be self-motivated, and be able to cope with long hours. You will need staying power to deal with uncertainty, the ability to get on with a wide range of people, and you will need to turn your hand to a wide variety of tasks. You will also have to accept the franchisor’s rules and regulations for their business system and work within these.
