Need Ideas on home base business and or a service base business?

I am homeschooling and looking for a business I can either operate out of my home or surrounded by a small office. Need thinking on a service type business or any business for that matter, that I can operate next to minimal start up cost. I thought of gift picnic basket or event planning, but I think the open market is so heavily saturated next to both of these ideas its not easy to get contained by.

I have a business that I run from home. My start-up costs are defensible and what I love about it is that when I show it to small businesses, they can right away see how they could use it for inexpensive yet highly effective media hype. It's a feel-good business because we really touch people's lives with a product that doesn't involve any convincing when we show it to people.and it's profusely of fun!

Guy jerk child out of afternoon contemplation - do I owe him a reimbursement?

I own & have operate a day carefulness in my home for over 2 yrs in a minute. I open at 7:30am & hold been a few minutes delayed to open on solely 2 occasions. I've care for an emotionally disturbed child since Sept '07 for a single dad & these late days occur after that child's enrollment. All the parents know, including him, to just send for me if I'm not in the time care room when they arrive. They know I'm here - I LIVE here! He won't christen for some reason. The phone number & these instructions are posted on the door so he couldn't lately 'forget'. Yesterday was the 2nd morning I was unpunctually but he brought the child on in & adjectives seemed to be all right. Then, at around 5:30pm, his gf comes & hands me a dispatch 'terminating my services' because of my one no more than 15 minutes late vent up twice. Besides being exceedingly abrasive contained by the letter, a return of $300 which he'd prepaid for this month, plus another $50 for his 'lost wages' were demanded. I be also threatened with legalized action & next to being reported

Answers: Give him a pro-rated repayment and tell him that if he expects anymore he will enjoy to follow through with the lawful action. You've done nought wrong, and you SHOULD be paid for the days you've already watch the child.

If it truly is only 15 minutes or smaller number ( totaling at most 30 minutes of his "lost time" ), then his "lost wages" he is demanding funds he makes within excess of $100/hour? Doubt it!

As far as being reported...what can he report you for? Opening up business tardy? That's laughable.

Just send him a dispatch with his pro-rated discount and let him know that you're sorry to see him jump but you are refunding an appropriate amount of money to him ( the days you haven't watch his child ). It's money you haven't "lost" anyway. If he decides to thieve you to court, he'll be hard pressed to gain a judgment surrounded by his favor - plus he'll have to miss MORE time from work.

Good luck, I hope you can come to a solution that cause the least amount of stress.

*Just read your added entry so I'm editing at the bottom here*

Charge him whatever fees it costs for him person early, the days the child be there, and discount him the rest ( if any ). That would be my recommendation - but if it be me, keep contained by mind I'm more abrasive than most, I'd charge him adjectives that, plus the two weeks worth that it states in your contract he must present you notice for, and compensation him the rest, if any. If he owes more than what he's paid you, politely state that if he does prefer to take you to court, that you will be counter suing for the rest of the charges.
I doubt he will filch legal accomplishment, just to speak to a attorney will cost him more then he asked you for.
Your best bet to be celebration would be to offer him a compensation for however many days are not here in the month that his child will not be attending the sunshine care.
I'm assuming since its the 8th you owe him nearly $220.
As for the lost wages, tell him nick your partial refund or donate it. If he cant follow the instructions on the door, then explicitly his problem.
I'd only charge him for the days he dropped sour early if you documented it respectively & every time it occurred. . . if you are guessing or estimating, it's probably not worth the meltdown he will own when you stick it to him.

Charge him for:
--days dropped off precipitate (IF documented); itemize every single day he did this on the bill

--the two weeks he is contractually obligated to settle up you for terminating in need notice

--any days you kept the kid this month already

Refund the difference, if nearby is anything left of the $300 prepaid. Ignore his request for lost wages; I don't know for sure what your state's law are, but it is HIGHLY unlikely that he is legally entitled to this unless such be stipulated in the contract between the two of you.

I'd also suggest sending the return by certified or registered mail. I can't remember the difference between the two, but you will want proof that he received the epistle containing the bill & the refund.

If he does hold you to court, try not to worry. You hold clearly published policies to cover the incidents in request for information (sign at door) and you have his signature on a contract.
Well you are in your rights. I would give him nil back but if you want to avoid problems or hounding later administer him back the 300 but not lost wages on his part of a set. You honored your contract and probably would win in small claims.

If you are not reasonably liscense to operate your own day attention to detail, you need to foot him up to shut him up.
