I hired an independant seamstress who charges $25 an hr to make a indication of a product I designed. I had a drawing of it and one that be sewn by me that I brought. There were change that needed to be made as indicated in the drawing. After weeks of putting me past its sell-by date by not returning my calls and not responding to emails I finally made contact and be told the design was sewn. I go over to look at it the next light of day (seamstress was not there). It be nothing close to the design and the sewing was impressively sloppy. I went over the subsequent day and talk to the person indicating the issues beside it and asked to have another one sewn to my specs. Again the project stalled for a week when I received a message that it would not be done for another 4 days. I could not lurk any longer so I went over in attendance to pick up the material (person not there) so I could sew it myself. I received an email a week subsequent with a charge for $100. I enjoy not replied at all. What would you do?Answers: I would reply to the email relating them that the job be not done to the specifications of your (verbal) contract, nor to your satisfaction. If you have an agreement with good opinion to how long it would take to complete the opening and they didn't meet that requirement I would also include contained by your list of reason as to why you are declining to payment for the job. Without the piece of work the case have no merit if you need to travel to small claims court. I would also document any costs against you for delayed work for the project against your company / business.
