Work rules: So the company I work for make you find a replacement for yourself when your sick?
Im curious how many society here thinks this policy is virtuous. I for one think it's not righteous. when your sick and everything you shouldnt have to treaty with calling up workers you don't talk beside and stuff to get replaced. That should be managments undertaking. Your information shouldnt be shared with every hand in the company. Well what do you reflect?Answers: depends on the industry you are talking in the region of. I work in Human Services- as a residential supervior of a group home. Because we are responsible for the condition and safety of those who can't take concern of themselves we are required by law to enjoy a certain # of staff on site at adjectives times. If someone calls me 1-2 hrs back they are supposed to work- sorry- not excused...you either find someone, work it yourself, or lose your work. (in my case, if someone call out last minute- I enjoy to work)...BUT if someone calls out near 4 hrs or more of notice- then its fine.
I would progress ge work somewhere else.sounds to me like the company is run by morons.
I see it from a headship perspective...why on earth would I put a policy within place with such an astronomical horizontal of risk to my company.
So what if an employee cant find a replacement...or newly decides not to.very soon my company is minus a person.something doesn't get hold of done.say, for my biggest client no smaller amount...and I lose my biggest source of revenue.
so now I own to fire this guy..put yet again more cost and time into training.and how abundant times a year am I going to have to dance through this cycle?
In my company I'm going to make damn sure I've get my bases covered, and I own a contingency plan B and C.
.this ensures that I hold control over the reduction of risk surrounded by my company, and reduce the opportunity for the unexpected.
