Is it right for an owner not to work?
Lets think here for a sec.. An owner of a in good health to do business works for himself for 9 months, then when he is in position to bring in body, he recruits them and starts them out with his business. But once they hold worked for a few months and the owner hasnt done much since he hired these new individuals, is it right for the owner to say " Im not gonna work anymore." But he still keep the business rolling with his workers doing all the work. Keep within mind, this business he owns is a labour chore. Thanks.Answers: This is actually the aspiration of hundreds of entrepreneurs, and no there's absolutely nil wrong with this. It only depends on the individual owner. The owner of the business wears abundant hats; book warden, salesman, janitor, laborer, secretary, and spokesman. That being said, the owners presence combined next to all his or her experience put into the business can organize to substantial growth, but if the owner sits back and completely let the employees run everything the business probably won't expand as briskly. The employees won't be as keen about someone else's dream and they involve to be constantly monitored.
Yes...that is the in one piece point of trying to get your own business going.

I was hired as an independent contractor for a company and be told I would get "x" amount of dollars for a project. after providing services for this company for 2 weeks they changed their mind around doing the project and since the project wasn't completed they were not going to salary me "x" dollars.isn't this kind of similar to hiring someone to put in a pool at your house and next you change your mind after they enjoy already dug the hole and then read out "the pool isn't completed" so we aren't going to pay you?

Did you return with a signed contract or agreement? If so check the small print on cancellation.If you didn't return with anything in writing you're surrounded by a poorer position.
Estimate what percentage of the project was completed and bill them for that percentage of 'x' probably.
Take into account possible adjectives work losses if you get assertive. Legal bustle might be the way forward - depends how much $ is involved.

so what you do is ask them to take-home pay you for 2 weeks of your time at your standard billing rate.
let us suppose, for this example, that the work be expected to last 2 months. surrounded by that case, I'd argue that your standard rate times the time if truth be told invested should be about 50% of the contract amount related to labor. plus, as you would expect, the cost of specialty materials purchased for their work, etc.
your standard rate is obviously difficult than the one you gave them for 2 months of continuous work and 50% discount is almost the maximum I can imagine accepting.
my guess is that they'll try to pay envelope nothing.

when you do sue, don't forget to make the addition of the estimated amount of your attorney's fees to the amount requested from the court, plus costs and interest.
