I want to start a wedding/party planning business. I hold my warrant so where on earth do I budge from here?
I am currently planning a wedding and I'm checking out how much other planners charge within the area.Answers: When I started my business (Pampered Chef) I found that my biggest breaks come from word of mouth. I threw my own "Grand Opening" party and invited almost 100 populace. At first I was dissapointed beside the turnout, but over the next few weeks I realize that everyone I invited got the communication about my business. Soon inhabitants I hardly know were unfolding me that thier sister-in-law (friend, aunt, etc.) wanted to enjoy a show. Someone else who I barely know couldn't make the dignified opening but offered to enjoy a show of her own. It led to 4 more shows, which lead to an open house, which lead to a recruit! She is very soon a great friend!
I also got a table at some local peddler fairs & other had a raffle at the table. When populace filled out the raffle slip they give me their contact info for my mailing schedule and answered a few questions, such as "are you interested contained by earning free and discounted products by hosting a fun cooking show?" This be a great help surrounded by building a customer base.
My suggestion - throw your own "Grand Opening" and invite TONS of relations. Use raffles to boost your customer stand.
P.S.
Pampered Chef does wedding registeries next to great benefits. Send me a note at heatherkrey(a)rcn.com if you'd close to to network so we can both go and get more customers. (that is, I recommend you, you recommend me.)
build a relationship with local vendor. Attend bridal events and make foreign friens. Word of mouth is the best way to bring this information out.
Good luck!
