Do you need to go to college in order to be a receptionist?
Answers: Not usually, but a few science companies that I knew require it. The receptionist has to be able to speak with some intelligence, so they require the degree. I know one in San Jose earning 100k a year as a receptionist, she is very happy with her job!
You need to have at least a high school education, have excellent communication skills, manage telephone lines, be able to take messages... I could go on but you get the picture.
Your main job will be to greet people as well as take incoming calls.
That's the reason you are going to work as a Receptionist, because you did no want to go to college
No, but learn Word and have your wits about you and you're better than ours.
Lets put it this way.if you don't go to college you will be a receptionist forever...

What is the proper way to handle an irate employee?
Answers: don't tick him off..
no,... seriously. it is best to have a relaxing atmosphere and a non threatening conversation. if there is one thing that makes me get ticked off is a smartass know it all that treats me like trash. show everyone respect,.keep YOUR temper even when he is mad..keep your head and stay calm.
try to explain things simply and calmly.
if you do not get him to settle down,...explain that the issues cannot be resolved until he is calmed down.
if you fear real violence...do not be alone.
I'm telling you this, from someone that has many issues with bosses. I personally have only found a small handful of bosses that I'd give you 10 cents for.
MOST bosses do not show respect and talk-down-to-you.
good luck.
Depends on what they're irate about. One thing I an tell you is not to get angry yourself--remain calm and rational. Also listen to what they have to say.
Excuse, me, tu madre??Call the police, just because someone is angry?? You must watch a lot of TV to think that every disturbance is something for the cops to handle.
What is you position, HR or something or are you just a boss in some workplace? First thing always is to hope the person will calm down on their on in a few minutes..then preferably with another person with you try to have the person sit down and discuss why they are angry..more than likely there will be loud shouting and anger.be calm and let the person vent..usually after a few minutes it will calm down..if there are threats of violence dont hesitate to call the police..even an irate person knows they cannot threaten anyone with physical violence..put their butts in a jail cell if you have to...protect yourself physically at all costs, especially if you are a woman..
