In general most heavily-trafficked areas are regulated by such license, so that the vendors don't clog things up.
Obviously some of the answers posted already are merely going for the 2 points-they don't have a clue what they are discussion about. This type of answer could receive someone in serious trouble if they believed it! Laws governing sale, vendors, etc. are different surrounded by EVERY SINGLE COMMUNITY. So the answers like 'yes you do' are false and show famine of true information. In Vermont, for example you have to register any business beside the state-because of sales toll they have to collect. Street vendor have to register within SOME of the cities to get a vending charter. In New Hampshire, you can open up almost any type of business and NO permit are required from the state, except for licensed business-like hair salon, doctor, etc. But respectively city and town may have a travel document required for a 'storefront' business, or they may NOT require anything!
Our city requires NO permits or registration for any business not regulated by license, but you MUST get a 'vendors' authorization EVERY DAY if you are going to sell 'on the street' , etc. So it vary in every city, town, and state.
You hold to check at the city hall/town clerk's office of the community you want to deal in in. There is no 'universal' license that allows you to do it everywhere-you own to find out what your area requires.
If you are selling food products, you may hold to provide a source of hand cleaning, storage, etc. for food, supplies. This would also require a food/restaurant license and inspection.
Some towns and cities might not own any licenses needed but you requirement to check-ignorance of the law 'but officer, I didn't know I needed a permit' will NOT seize you off the hook.Some cities may hold a restricted number of 'permits' and auction them off for a specific time period-to prevent 'only anybody' from setting up an illegal sale site.
So figure out where on earth you want to sell and give the name that local city hall or police department and find out who to sermon to.
And keep contained by mind-just setting up to sell on a 'empty city lot' could get you a trespassing charge-just because like mad is vacant doesn't tight the city owns it-if it is privately owned the owner can have you arrested!

Answers: You can vitally sell anything you want. The push button is good customer service and honest communication with your buyers.
When I am actively selling and someone buys something
I convey an invoice thanking them for their purchase and propose multiple payment option pay mate being preferred.
When I ship the item I dispatch them a final email thanking them again for their bid and pass them their tracking number.
If this is not a drop ship item and something I am shipping I include another note thank them again for their bid and reminding them that a positive feedback will be left once they enjoy left their feedback.
Allot of thank you's but I also own a 100% feedback rating.
You can also buy cheap stuff you need from buyers who are consistent at departure feedback. Most are.

If you're serious just about making money, be open to anything that comes your road and check with your community center. If they don't own anything right now, check near other community centers. If you tell them what you are trying to earn the money for, they will support you find something...guaranteed.
