Basiclly I want to start my own clothing line for infants and toddlers, I get the basics down the moniker,sketches my friends and family similar to and I want to put it on a shirt, what is the next step? it's sounds like you are in good health on your way. i speak from experience when i influence that paying a screen printer to do your designs on tshirts can be costly. yes you will hold that professional job but merely starting out you have to budget, budget, budget. i would support you to do the research, if you are looking to create transfersto put on tshirts then try inquiring the ebay site you can purchase a heat press fresh for anywhere between 200-400 bucks. secondly www.proworldinc.com has some of the best verbs paper out here and they also have the stock transfers to. of late do your research and good luck. if i can backing further i would be happy to, basically drop me a line
Make sure you document your art concept. Date of conception. And make sure any artwork you show to a printer or make available to a printer is copyrighted. Basically dated and signed.
Aside from showing friends and family, enjoy you shown anyone else? Not meaning to put you down, but relatives & friends arn't always the most honest surrounded by their opinions.
Try showing a few of your art concepts to a audition group. Show a group of mums waiting to pick up kids after school or kinder. Talk to nurses surrounded by the childrens section of your local hospital. Strangers will furnish you an honest opinion. And be prepared ... not everyone will resembling your work.
Just see how they respond. Don't show them all your thinking tho.

O.K. Here go. My .02 cents. Just a few things to keep contained by mind.
Outsourcing or sewing your own? Outsourcing works best for us because it is cheaper and the manufacturing company will provide adjectives the labels, hang down tags, pub codes etc..etc..for less.
EXAMPLE: 100% pique cotton polo shirt at below wholesale price $5.50pc and totalling your labels and dangle tags which can cost .30each (and the minimum directive is 1,000 labels per design). You will have need of several different labels. Care sticky label, main sign, hang tag, price tags, inn code. 5 labels x .30 = $1.50 immediately that shirt can cost you about $7.00/pc not including embroidery, logo or your design. Add your designs and presently that same polo shirt can be upto $12-$12.50/pc if you can find a cheap embroidery company. If sewing or printing yourself $9.00-$10.50/pc.
First you need to know how much is the cost per component.
All prices from manufacturing companies are movable.
$4.00-$5.00 a unit? or smaller number depending on manufacturer,level and minimum order. (what type of cotton, jersey, pique, combed, etc..100% cotton...50/50.80/20...etc) does it include sway tags, company sticky label, price tags, shaft code and polybag.
Will it be shipped all together or will it be boxed by style, size or combination of both.
Then you want to add your shipping cost.
the cost engineering company will charge to ship items to you.
Freight or airway?? (FOB) airway is more expensive but you will get your items quicker.
Then in attendance is customs duty.
Depends on the fabric and customs code.
Usually $16.5% of the invoice. but can dance up to 19% depending on the country you are importing from.
If you are order more than $2,000 ( and yes you can work with a production company with $2,000 as a example order) you will also, need a broker as customs will not release your items lacking an entry on invoices more than $2000 and a broker will provide the customs entry forms as well as making sure your proclaim is released from customs.
So, you will need to add on $150-$200 for brokers fees.

Even after adding the expense of a brokers, customs and shipping charges you can still capture the same shirt next to all appropriate label and design for about $6.50/pc or smaller amount depending on the quantity ordered.
