Small Business Questions and Answers

Are work at home jobs really legit?

Answers: I know a lot about this topic so please forgive the length of this reply. I have a lot of good info for you. I am a mother of two little girls who are actually tugging on my arm as I write this so I will try to be brief. Many people are looking for work from home companies. All the scams definitely create a big problem but also, there is a problem of people misunderstanding the difference between work from home "jobs" and work from home opportunities. There really are not work from home “jobs”. To get that you have to start working for a company in their offices first, then they MAY allow you to take the job home.

Most of the work from home opportunities that are legitimate offers are not an hourly pay type job. They are business opportunities that help you in starting your own business from your home.

What you should do first is to decide if you are simply looking for an hourly rate type job or if you are looking for more of an opportunity for additional income such as what you would make in your own business being your own boss from home. Many say a JOB stands for Just Over Broker and I have found that to be true as well. I never got anywhere working for others.

Small home businesses have some small costs involved, less then $100 to start is reasonable and I would stay away from those wanting $300, $500 even some asking for $1000-$5000. It doesn’t cost that much to start and run a home business so you shouldn’t pay it. The real ones will have a small monthly overhead as well. Should be around $50 a month but no more then $75. And everything should be included from your web sites to training and team support to back office accounting and booking. It’s ok to pay this overhead because it’s a business, they cost money. It’s not reasonable to assume you can run a business from home with a website and more for free so do keep that in mind as you search.

If you are coming across places that say free then I would RUN don’t walk the other way! They never are. I tried them many a times and 3 weeks later I had to buy this and 6 weeks later that. After 6 months these “free businesses” had cost me over $800 on average.

I’m a stay at home mom of two little girls as I mentioned, ages 1 and 3. I work about 15-18 hours per week for a National Medical Benefits Company. This is a home business, a nationally known and reputable home business which is what you need to make sure you are looking for. I have been with the company almost a year now and I make over $2000 a month! In your first month, depending on how many hours you can work, I have seen people make anywhere from $300 to over $3000. And your income will increase each month because we get paid residual income as well. If I continue on as I am going at the end of the year I will be making $5000 a month. My friend Becky from South Carolina started 2 years before me and she is now making $95,000 a year with this company.

The best part is they have 401(k), direct deposit, life insurance and a benefits package most of which you get from day one. In addition, there are no products, no hard selling or pushing, no cold calling, no home parties and no telemarketing! That was VERY important to me.

I absolutely love working with them and I can't believe I am making what I am making and in so few hours per week. The neat thing is there are other people on your team that you work with so you are never alone. You have great team support and you get to know the other people on your team pretty well. The support is great but I have made wonderful friends as well. I think that’s important too, especially being at home!

I was a bit apprehensive at first because I know a lot of companies are not legit but this company is the number one National Medical Benefits Company in the US. They are a member of the US Chamber of Commerce, and the National Association of Dental Plans and the owner of the company actually sits on the board of The Consumer Health Alliance to which we are also members. Also they were featured in “The New York Times”, “Wall Street Journal” “Time Magazine” and the “American Medical Review”. Even “60 Minutes” with Morley Safer did a big special on this home based business.

Even more then all this is they are accepted at over 100,000 retailers nation wide. These are fortune 500 companies like Sears, Target, Walgreens, CVS, Wal-mart, Publix and more. These companies would never work with a company that was any thing less then reputable. That made me feel very good about working with them knowing they were accepted at these stores that I frequent. Also now of course being with them I get the dental and vision benefits for free and I saved over $150 on my last visit to the dentist! That’s just a beautiful perk! : - )

When I first started I just felt very safe with them, that and my friend was already making so much money with Ameriplan. But at this point I feel a sense of security financially that our family has never had before. That plus LOVING what you do? What could be better?

If you're looking for a work from home JOB (not a home based business), there are lots of companies who hire for call center type positions. And don't listen to the nay-sayers who say work from home and telecommuting jobs are all scams or that there aren't real jobs. There are. You just have to know where to look and how to avoid the scams.

Do NOT pay for a list of jobs or pay to get a job. There are a few of the legitimate companies that, after you have qualified for the job, ask you to pay for a background check if you will be handling sensitive information like credit cards. It's usually $20-$30 and from legitimate companies is a legit fee to pay. Other than that, there is no reason or need to pay anything if you just want a job. Some of the call center jobs, you are an independent contractor (IC) and some you are an employee.

If you want to start a home based business, there will be fees involved and business expenses. There are many legit business opportunities out there in direct sales, multi-level and network marketing. There are great companies to work with, but having a business isn't for everyone.

For info on jobs, you can check out this comparison chart from RatRaceRebellion.com - it shows a huge list of companies, their requirements, pay, where they are etc. http://www.ratracerebellion.com/CS_Compa...

Also, check out the telecommuting forums at WAHM.com and WorkPlaceLikeHome.com
Home based business's are legit. There are home jobs that could be, but they are very rare and hard to find. Those you pretty much have to have an "in" with the business, or already working for them.
I created a blog on my 360 page. If you would like to take a look. I've had a couple people who I know involved in home based business's that have incredible income opportunities. If you find something your interested in, contact the person that posted it.
Good luck!
I am working at home on internet for my clients for long time on various fields.
I have compiled a list of work at home opportunities from my experience.
The list is available here >> http://ideas-4-work-at-home.blogspot.com...
Hope this will be helpful to you to find out some home based jobs.
this is my opinions for company who are providing services as legit job broker and I have never came across one yet. I base this opinions from the conditions we are having on the internet right now and the type of work these company are supposed to offer.

I assume when people regard work at home a job it is like thing you do and get paid from the work such as call center, typing real biz document or anything that require manual labor and time. the money will change hand only once job is done. so work at home broker should only take money for their services from the cut of the worker's first pay check.

this is the only way so that people won't be scam when finding work at home job. once there is a company use this model all the company that would scam people would cease their biz and internet would be less scam. and we can make money online a lot more comfortable. so anyone who want to look for this kind of job online and you want some assurance for your money then that is the criteria you should look for. if you don't get that guarantee for your money just don't. why gamble with something that is 95% of the time you will find is a scam.
Legit work at home jobs are just that - a job where you get paid an hourly wage for hourly work. Most are in the 'virtual customer service' field. Any ad you see that claims you will make hundreds of dollars a day, typically either rebate processing, data entry, etc... and require ANY up front fee - are scams.

If you live in the US and are interested in something like this, send me an email through my profile and I will send you a link to two legit sites who list various companies who hire tel commuters.

It's funny that you should ask that. As a small business coach, I am often wondering if "work-at-home" people are really legit.

Most of these people are wishing that they could stay home and play on the computer for a couple of hours and still get paid a full time salary.

It takes a special kind of person to really earn a reasonable income working from home. The words "self discipline" come to mind.

If you really do want to WORK at home and earn a real income (six figures +), Call me. You'll have to figure out how to do that. It's a test.
(Oh, I forgot to mention, besides self discipline you need to be smart too:)
Yes, but you must be careful not to fall into the hand of scammer. You should try to join those that do not require you to pay them upfront inorder to register with them.

See: http://www.WeWorkAtHomeOnline.com if you are interested to know more. I heard that there are some recommended companies there that do not need to pay them upfront inorder to sign up with them, so I think that it is less likely to be scam.
There are a lot of scams out there, but there are definitely some legit jobs. I've been working from home for over two years. I've started a newsletter sending out free work at home job listings weekly. To sign up, go to www.thewahspot.com.

13-Business oblige?

My mother thinks because I'm underage I can't do anything for money so she won't tolerate me buy vending machines, raise herb, or anything else I've tried. How do I persuade her to consent to me earn money some way?

Answers: To operate vending machines or incline herbs you first hold to make an investment. If you expect your mother to nouns the business and she refuses, she is correct. If you hold worked for the money you need to invest surrounded by the business, she should not stop you.

You can explain to your mother that getting involved in a business can initiate you a lot going on for responsibility, management, and copious other aspects of life and business. But at your age, she is your best guide as to what you should attempt. How around baby sitting, house cleaning, pulling weed, washing cars for neighbors? Those are adjectives ways to earn money and learn around business without a big investment.
You can ask your mom if you could buy a website and enjoy her help you run it. I know aplac that sell established websites www.uglydog.org

Answers: shovel snow, rake yards, abet garden, walk pets or lug care of someone's pets while they are gone, volunteer at a humane society (no money in that though), lemonade or some type of drink stand, pick up people's yards.. you know you should simply think of something cute to do. You are merely 10--- should be able to manufacture some money. When we were little we weren't afraid of snakes and advertise to remove snakes from people's yards (of couse to be exact actually impossible) but we'd bear a snake or two out of the yard (garter snakes--- we are contained by the midwest), and people thought it be cute and would give us some money.
Check out this link- it is a kid who have been making A LOT of money selling lemonade, his capture is that he is young and cute and wear a tux so adults love it. He made the news even- he's made profusely of money.

Ethan Esparza takes dressing for nouns to a new even.

"When the people saw me, they in recent times really thought it was cute," Esparza said. "I get a lot of money, so I thought, ‘Maybe I’ll wear a suit every time I do a lemonade stand'."

He started three years ago, when he be only eight, wearing the suit and tie almost every hours of daylight.

Esparza’s casual attire be a disaster, "Once I wore a T-shirt, I lately made five bucks."

He works the yard contained by front of his grandmother’s house every Tuesday and Saturday. His uniform attracts large crowds and big tippers.

Mary Looney remarked, "I mull over he’s the most professional-looking lemonade salesman I’ve ever seen. We have to stop."

Passing drivers do double-takes. Motorcyclist Candyce Ferrentino did a U-turn.

"'Look at him! He’s got a suit on'," said Ferrentino while turning around. "He grab our attention."

Her riding partner, Tracy French said, "You need to be an entrepreneur next to a niche and he found it."

For three years, the 11-year-old has individual charged a quarter a cup, but the tips pay sour. A good daylight nets him 40 dollars. In total, he say he’s earned around $1,500.

"I want I could put it in a hoard account," said Esparza. "But I never do because I spend it so hastily."

In fact, his parents enjoy offered to match his nest egg dollar-for-dollar, but they have however to have to live up to that submit.

Esparza says he spends his money on baseball cards and comic books. He have 12 suits, but his parents take prudence of that business expense.

In his little lemonade stand, Ethan Esparza is proving that clothes do make the man, even when the man is a short time ago 11 years old.
Enjoy your childhood while it last... soon it will be gone and the rest of your life is litter. I know.. I'm in college. The homework is so complicated and you have so masses tests and assignments. I'm doing a co-op on tuesday, wednesday, thursday. Any daylight I'm not doing my co-op I work at my other job at hours of darkness. I never get a time off. It's brutal.

Trust me, lately enjoy self a kid because that is the with the sole purpose good quantity of life. Once it's over, it's over.

When you are 16 you can bring a real errand and make $100+ respectively week, so it's not worth working your butt off for $10 a month right in a minute.
