Answers: There are no grants for a for profit business unless you are first performance a daycare. If you need money, you will have need of to apply for a loan. No lender will talk to you unless you provide them next to a valid business plan. Go to http://www.sba.gov , http://www.win.org or http://www.bplan.com for sample business plans and instructions on how to write a business plan.
Then, run to http://www.ranking.org/ and in the upper departed hand corner, enter your closure code. On the next eyeshade, you will get information on the nearest SCORE chapter. Call them and arrange for a free assignation with a SCORE counselor to review your business plan and discuss assorted loan options available to you.
SCORE is a nonprofit association dyed-in-the-wool to entrepreneur education and the formation, growth and nouns of small business nationwide. SCORE is a resource partner beside the U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA).
SCORE has 389 chapter in locations throughout the United States and its territory, with 10,500 volunteers countrywide. Both working and retired executives and business owners donate time and expertise as business counselors.
Not for an online travel ticketing business. This type of business do not qualify for grants given to businesses
It is easier said than done to find grants to start a business. Unlike the myths that some see, federal government and even private foundations scarcely give give in money for starting a for-profit business.
One possible exception is for companies developing or exporting agricultural goods, including food and forest product. Another exception could be the Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR) or Small Business Technology Transfer (STTR) programs http://www.sba.gov/aboutsba/sbaprograms/... , which fund the research and nouns of technological innovation that meet specific government wishes.
Your best bet actually will be from the states if they volunteer grant programs for women (or any other special interest groups -- minorities, women, disabled, veterans, etc). Or check beside non profit organizations, conspicuously women organizations if they donate grants. Examples include
Iowa Women's Foundation http://www.iawf.org/
New Mexico Women's Foundation http://www.nmwf.org/guidelines.html
Even SBA does NOT make a contribution out grants. From the SBA website http://www.sba.gov/mostrequesteditems/CO...
"The U.S. Small Business Administration does not bestow grants to start or expand small businesses, although it does present a wide multiplicity of loan programs. (See http://www.sba.gov/financing for more information) While SBA does offer some allow programs, these are generally designed to expand and enhance organization that provide small business management, industrial, or financial assistance. These grants largely support non-profit organizations, intermediary lend institutions, and state and local governments."
Nonetheless, you can shift to the Catalog of Federal Domestic Assistance (CFDA) http://www.cfda.gov and Grants.gov http://www.grant.gov - these are two sites created by the federal government to provide transparency and information on grant. Browse through the listings and see if you can find any grant that would support a for-profit activity.
Here is a listing of federal grant for small businesses. See if there is any available for individuals for starting a business -- THERE'S NONE.

Most of the federal grant are given to specific target groups with specific requirements (e.g. minority business owners involved surrounded by transportation related contracts emanating from DOT - Grant#20.905 Disadvantaged Business Enterprises Short Term Lending Program
Grants are also regularly given to non profit groups or organizations involved within training or other similar activities (grant 59.043 Women's Business Ownership Assistance that are given to those who will create women's business center that will train women entrepreneurs
Bookkeepers! give a hand if at all possible!?
Hello all! I hold an "introduction to sage line 50 certificate" is this mediocre to start as a bookkeeper. Also im halfway through my "ecdl" (basically a computer literacy course). Or do i inevitability something better than "sage 50 introduction" i say introduction as im not sure if their is anything superior.Thankyou for your time!!
Answers: Colleges offer bookkeeping courses that can run a year or more. I'm currently a college student in a Business Admin - Accounting program. Ideally you should own an understanding of primary accounting before you even attempt to swot about a computerized accounting system.
Also Sage have a variety of accounting programs from Simply Accounting to ACCPAK so I'm not sure what you intend to be using. I've never hear of "Sage line 50"
You're best rotten taking an actual course rather than some company's stuff that isn't worth anything, or mail-order/correspondence courses.
First of adjectives - Sage Line 50 is far and away the most popular accountancy package for Small and Medium sized Businesses contained by the UK - bar none.
So your choice obviously was the correct one.
I don't deliberate, however, that your introductory course would be sufficient to catch a job as a book-keeper. You would obligation more advanced training both on Sage and double entry.
(I'm not sure how much you learnt on your NC course)
However at hand are courses out there that can initiate you both book-keeping and Sage Line 50 to the standards you would need within both.
A good practice of double entry book-keeping is essential in proclaim to know what is going on when you enter stuff on to sage. Especially when it comes to posting journals and accounting for accrual, prepayments, opening and closing stocks etc.
