Note that the Council does not hold much say surrounded by how much is charged. Money goes to Central Gov and is redistribute.
To rent a place you pay so much per square foot. If the owner re-models the space for you, the cost per sq ft will be in motion up proportionately.
In a good location surrounded by a mid sized city, $25 psf is standard. Locally, in a not-very-good location, $10 psf.
Different commercial neighborhoods charge different prices base on the amount of foot traffic and its overall attractiveness.
business rates are set by your local authorities - and the amount is base on the size of the property. relief is available - but have to be applied for. (charity shops are usually automatically in tally of 80% relief on the rates - and the local authority regularly allows them the other 20% too...)

Answers: there are lots of grant and loans out there for the taking. but you hold to know how to go almost getting them. your best bet is to draw up a business plan. threre's some very fitting software available now to comfort with this long process and beging investigating investors, grant, gov't loans. go to the sba website www.sba.gov and also check out the angel investors websites:

I enjoy books and a CD on this that I acquire for free from some university. You might be able to acquire it on procession.
Basically, begin near assets. How much money are you willing to invest? $20,000?
1. How much will the rent per month be? Per year?
2. Taxes, Licenses, utilities, insurance, remodeling, salary
per month/year
3. Inventory
You should have plenty funds to survive for two years. Can you do all this on $20,000?
You own to make the plan. Then lift it to your bank to discuss it near your commercial loan officer. He will tell you what I enjoy left out.
If this is a arts school assignment, put some basic concept down on paper and travel to the bank first.

Its a well brought-up investment in my nouns though. We only hold three "hot spots" around here, two starbucks, and a Macdonald's. A smaller coffee/sandwich/desert shop with lots of little table, some with computers, some clear so you can set up your knees top... A section surrounded by the back beside new and used books and big comfy chairs for reading. And surrounded by the other back corner, my husband's computer repair nouns...
I ran a restaurant and would not recommend any business involving food. i know run a business supplying internet caf¨¦ and i would highly recommend it (we've help setup about 300). My personal dream is to go for a business that requires little sunshine to day attention, so i am earn money even if i sleep in.
