Why would an employer hire an employee, knowing the business would close in a year?
Answers: Well, if you owned a business and needed help running it, wouldn't you hire someone, even if you were gonna close the doors? I mean, not hiring an employee would leave a particular job not getting done. So, even though the doors close a year later, the work still needed to be done. Sometimes, employers don't know that a business is going to close that far in advance as well.
Businesses always need employees in order to survive. It is possible they could have held back that information in fear the person wouldn't take the job seriously or quit?
That's a bummer of a situation though, I'd be a little mad.
Hoping that the new person may rescue his/her business by doing some good work!
If one is so sure to close his business... he/she shud inform prior to appointment!
Im afraid it didn't happen wid u?
good que btw!
I'm interested surrounded by obtain a admit (not a loan)to start up my business?
I am a woman entrepreneur and was wondering are nearby any legit (government) grant programs out near where it does'nt require you to settle up for the information to apply for it?Answers: Yes there is -- from the source which is the GOVERNMENT.
It is rock-hard to find grants to start a business. Unlike the myths that some see, federal government and even private foundations just about give admit money for starting a for-profit business.
One possible exception is for companies developing or exporting agricultural goods, including food and forest product. Another exception could be the Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR) or Small Business Technology Transfer (STTR) programs http://www.sba.gov/aboutsba/sbaprograms/... , which fund the research and nouns of technological innovation that meet specific government desires.
Your best bet actually will be from the states if they proposition grant programs for women (or any other special interest groups -- minorities, women, disabled, veterans, etc). Or check next to non profit organizations, mainly women organizations if they submission grants. Examples include
Iowa Women's Foundation http://www.iawf.org/
New Mexico Women's Foundation http://www.nmwf.org/guidelines.html
Even SBA does NOT endow with out grants. From the SBA website http://www.sba.gov/mostrequesteditems/CO...
"The U.S. Small Business Administration does not hold out grants to start or expand small businesses, although it does tender a wide array of loan programs. (See http://www.sba.gov/financing for more information) While SBA does offer some admit programs, these are generally designed to expand and enhance organization that provide small business management, industrial, or financial assistance. These grants commonly support non-profit organizations, intermediary lend institutions, and state and local governments."
Nonetheless, you can walk to the Catalog of Federal Domestic Assistance (CFDA) http://www.cfda.gov and Grants.gov http://www.grant.gov - these are two sites created by the federal government to provide transparency and information on grant. Browse through the listings and see if you can find any grant that would support a for-profit endeavour.
Here is a listing of federal grant for small businesses. See if there is any available for individuals for starting a business -- THERE'S NONE.

There's no such piece. There are SBA sponsored loans. Grants are for studies/research.

Check the Small Business Administration. They have several grant programs, and other very-low or no-interest loans. They own offices within many core cities.
You'll need a business plan. They'll assistance you put one together.
I think it's sba.gov
DO NOT PAY FOR GRANT INFORMATION. In most cases they will grant you a list of phone numbers for state agencies and the SBA, which you can draw from for free from a phone book. In reality admit money is not generally available.
Starting a business is one of the hardest (yet rewarding) things you will ever do and most small businesses go wrong in the first five years. If the command where to impart you the money to start your business you have no incentive to work 16 hour days, seven days a week for little or no money while you try to grow your business. If you bequeath up and walk away you own no financial penalty.
The grant that are out there are usually not for start-up funds and are sometimes tied to adjectives tax obligation. For example a business might get a settlement on taxes paid by the companies human resources. So you create jobs and you will procure grant money.
Don't be discouraged. Apply for a low interest loan and dance into business, just do your homework first and start next to a well thought out business plan.
