I can chime in around the survey portion of your question. I am a stay at home dad and do surveys day after day to make some brass. There really are free sites that pay and don't scam you. However, calling it a "job" would be a foremost stretch. You generally product between 2 and 10 dollars per survey and the amount of surveys you receive and qualify for can be very unpredictable.
I've made a detail at my blog of survey sites I've had apt luck with so far. Stay away from paying for any list and stick with the free to blend sites if you choose to do surveys.
I'm still looking for a "real" stay at home job too. I've found www.wahm.com to be a appropriate resource for this but I haven't made the jump to telecommuting however.

I was horrified to find my email portrayal spammed with thousands of mail daily - and they are not emails asking you to rob surveys but emails asking you to buy this and that.
