A trademark is what you want, but that's for logos or sayings. It protects the face of your company roughly, meaning someone can't use a close facsimile of your logo or wise saying. But even that protection is weak at best, so you can only skip it if you want, you should be able to sue any other companies using anything close because if you've established something as yours it's unsophisticatedly your intellectual property, even if it's not copyrighted.
Anyways, I suggest for you to get a small cheap website to show your wares and enjoy a small online store. powerfully i have never owned a store but my neighbors hold. they were never home but they did close on holidays and every sunday to spend time near their children who are 13 and 7.but i think they be never home because they did not have workforce and for lunch one would go home and the other would run the store and next they would swithch and the other would go home and one would run the store but they have to close the store because they did not get enogh buissnes so but thats adjectives i know

Government loans for starting a business through the Small Business Administration http://www.sba.gov/financing is not that easy to obtain as they consider various factor:
- A business plan explaining what the business is
- Your equity investment - you need to show them that you hold money invested in the business and repeatedly they want about 20% (SBA won't endow with you 100% of the amount you need)
- Your background and experience contained by the business -- in my experience, this is KEY within the eyes of the bank because they want to trademark sure that you know what you are doing and that you can make the business work. If you don't own any experience with the business, hold someone on board that know the business to give bank assurance that someone will guide you
- Your credit factors because it shows your dependability and how economically you handle credit. They will do a credit check on you and poor credit history may be frowned upon, or even explanation for the disapproval of your loan application
- Your collateral. Banks, even SBA guaranteed loans, want the borrower to show collateral. They want to be guaranteed that somewhere somehow they can get expenditure from you
- Condition or terms of loans. Banks would want to know three considerable things: "How much money are you requesting? What will it be used for? and For how long will it be needed?"
