Question:Hi, I have started import rimless eyewear frames(brandless) from India and China. Now these are great quality and i am giving a one year warranty on these frames. I am prepared to sell it within wholesale(min. 10 orders for $30/frame) and to individuals(i am mostly looking for wholesale) for $50. But my problem is that the local retailers who trade these frames(similar frames) for $220 are not ready to buy from me as they enunciate that they want a company backing me up. How do i breed a start? What should be my strategy? I truly beleive that the market for frames hold a monopoly charging ridiculous prices for frames and the people deserve much better and cheaper prices and explicitly the reason i started import it. 1. If you own a registered company but you have not started to trade later the company is classified as "dormant". however you must inform the Inland Revenue (IR) that the company is dormant.
I have checked near IR and they confirmed that unless you are actually acceptance revenues from trading you can leave the company as dormant.
So, lacking knowing the specifics of your business it appears that you are not taking revenues, only investing (paying out), so you can walk off it as dormant from an IR perspective.
PS - you will still need to maintain accounts and records of expenditure for neutralize against future incomes, etc.
