Frankly, the travel business is not a good one to go and get into right now. However, if you're serious, you should receive at least an Associate's Degree within Travel and Tourism. There's a lot involved within the travel business. It's not just around vacations. I purely got out of the business after 15 years because it wasn't a growing or profitable industry anymore. I don't really recommend it.

Browse through the listings and see if you can find any grant that would support a for-profit scheme.
Even if you buy books on "how to get grants" or detail that supposedly has information on grant -- all of them are mere rehash of what CFDA have, albeit packaged differently. But still the info is alike - hardly any grant for starting a for profit business.

That isn't nice, but it happens A LOT. When I worked near during the holidays I watched a woman thieve a box of cereal to the baby department and whip the cereal out and put a baby outfit contained by the box. I own a tanning salon and honestly, word of mouth have been my best form of public relations for the past 2 years. We put 1 affix in a newspaper like the first week we open and thats all we really needed. We also posted business cards contained by grocery stores, conveinence stores, and places where in that is alot of foot traffic. If im being honest next to you, word of mouth is the best way and its extraordinarily effective and cheap! lol. Your errand is to provide the service for your customers. Let your customers spread the good word around for your business. If a customer refers another customer to our salon, we also offer a discount or even a free visit. If you can gain some of your customers to do this, its worth giving them a little something to sustain grow your business. Believe it or not, customers will do ANYTHING to get a lousy $5.00 past its sell-by date a product or service. In the end, its in good health worth it because it will bring you more customers.
