I've habitually thought about doing what you described. Sounds approaching a good impression to me. $25-$35/hr sounds reasonable to me. You probably wouldn't be within their home for more than an hour. Startup costs should be pretty low I would imagine, digital camera ($100-200), blank cd (.10), yep sounds pretty righteous to me.
The only entry I've thought about it broken, is that, you're coming into peoples homes, and taking pictures of "their stuff", and they don't know you from the adjectives burglar, wanting to see what they've got. And I'm not calling you a burglar, but I would consistency a little uneasy have someone coming into my home to do this, unless I was positive they be legit, insured/bonded, etc.
It'll take getting your cross out as being honest, trustworthy, etc. And self insured and or bonded will/should help verbs this off.
Maybe start beside friends and family, and hopefully they could spread the word to their friends etc.
