a) 80% of eBay buyers turn upside down for products by keywords. The results eBay presents relate only to the auction listings. So, do not put up products lone in your store. You must catalogue items under auctions and attract people from there to your store.
b) Sign up next to auctiva.com , whether you are going to sell through auctions or through your store. This is a free service and allows free portrait hosting! This means that on respectively listing you will accumulate $$$ when you are uploading multiple images to deal in your products.
BTW, I saw one response to your query which mentioned that eBay's customer service sucks. Tut, tut... Please appreciate that over 2 million inhabitants visit eBay every single year - it may be a difficult task even for eBay to respond individually to the numerous query that must be coming along.
Here are two suggestions:
a) Visit their FAQ and Terms / Policy pages regularly. You will probably find answers to most of your question.
b) If you get stuck at any time for a systematic question, catch it clarified "before" you do something wrong. You will find a link for Live Help on the upper right of eBay page. Most times, this will save you a great deal of time and money.

It depends how many items your selling a month.
If it covers the shop allowance and all other fees consequently by all system go for it however auctions may be your best bet if you are with the sole purpose selling a few items.
However if you are only selling a few items respectively month that cost alot of money i.e electrical goods consequently a shop may be a wise choice.
Once again i would sit down and work out your finances and see which preference would be financially better.
eBay stores will allow you to list several items at a really cheap rate. The only route they are profitable is if you are also running several other auctions and then ancestors will check out your store if you have a correct niche product that is contained by demand.
