Secondly, running a company take a fair portion of your time. Don't count on devoting smaller amount than a day or 2 per week on the bureaucratic and administrative stuff for a while, or until you can afford to hire someone to offload it.
Third, don't run overboard on expenditures. We made the mistake of renting a "representative office" with conference room that we didn't really have need of (we thought we did) and it cut months of safety stale our cash flow.
Fourth, RESEARCH. A company (a set or full c-corp) may allow you to find credit/loan facilities that your personal credit wouldn't dream of attaining. Remember, wiser men than we enjoy said it's always better to spend OTHER people's money! Also, research for support resources (small business direction, local programs, state development funds, etc.).
Fifth, consider finding a partner. Not a insubstantial decision...you should enjoy VERY good judgment to trust this person, but it does help out lighten the burden of the risk and the overhead and the control.
If I had it to do over again, I'd own done it smarter, but I WOULD HAVE DONE IT. I don't regret striking out on my own, but I do wish I'd done more research.
