Business belief - renting out office?

I have be thinking about a business design and would like to know if this would be a righteous idea and if it would be profitable.
I would close to to buy or rent a building and then divide it into office. There would be a front office that would provide nonspecific services for all the renters, such as answering call, distributing mail, making copies, sending faxes, etc. and a conference room available for meeting.
I like this conception since I would have a place to unfurl a bookkeeping business also.
Does anyone out there own a similar business? Would renting or buying a building be better? Any input would be appriciated!
